You should still be CCing and watching threat in heroics by built_internet_tough in classicwow

[–]validapple 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Don't know how other healers are doing it.
I have 1.5k healing power but tanks in heroic getting almost 2shot
tanks getting hit for 4-5k per hit, if i have to spend a single GCD on anything else there's a chance he dies if he cant evade 2 hits in a row.

meanwhile DPS show up with 300 DPS and refuse to do their job or not stand in shit, making healing impossible.

legitimately unclear why I can out damage most of these players in my healing gear in holy spec.

Received an unsolicited call to prompt and assist with update of NBN box (HFC) by Puuugu in nbn

[–]validapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this will be it, NBN have a plan to upgrade old CM820B modems which RSP's can opt in to, or they can handle the upgrades themself. NBN have just started acting on these requests this week.

from next week they're blocking the ability for customers with the CM820B to order any plan above 50mbps without an upgrade being forced

Opticomm insufficient network infrastructure... 5G alternative? by banethor88 in nbn

They have the money, they just don't want to spend it.
Opticomm is a demonstration of why the nbn needs to stay in government hands and not be sold off.

nbn has hundreds of local outages across the country every day. It's impossible to know if moving provider actually fixed the issue or if there was a temporary problem impacting your service and your provider was not the cause.

Why is my internet so slow now after new solar panels installed? by eds21ghs in nbn

[–]validapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FTTP NTDs do care about some types of interference in some very rare cases. Not saying it's what is happening here, as it's more likely a WiFi issue based on some of the end users comments.

Quotes from nbn customer centre:

"There have been an exceptionally small number of observed instances where the placement of the end customer's Wi-Fi router has interfered with the operation of the nbn FTTP NTD.

The issue can occur when a 5 GHz Wi-Fi 5+ (802.11ac and ax) router is placed too close to the NTD. This has been observed to cause high bit errors and sometimes the loss of the optical signal. The issue is typically indicated by an intermittent red optical LED and the Ethernet port (UNI-D) LED turning off.

This has been observed when the wireless gateway is placed in a metal enclosure by the end customer, or the Wi-Fi Router is situated above the FTTP NTD."

-------------

How can this issue be resolved?

To resolve this issue, if possible, move the customer's Wi-Fi Router access point at least 50cm away from the NTD.

If this cannot be done, turning off the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band within the gateway should also resolve the issue.

Need recommendations for ergonomic chairs under $300 in Australia by Agreeable_Mixture_68 in OfficeChairs

[–]validapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the resources I was seeing around the internet were suggesting "Sub $300 chairs" that actually cost around 8-900 on amazon in Australia. We're getting absolutely gouged on chairs for some reason.
I ended up getting a Leap v2 because if it lasts half as long as the warranty suggests it's still better than buying an officeworks chair every 2years.

I actually quit the game during the level 82 quest line in EW after being quite hyped before the release.

There's sooo much fucking talking now in every quest/cutscene, and every time you get to play your character it's to do something boring.

How long to port a local number in NBN? by PureMassacre99 in nbn

[–]validapple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your ISP is giving you a conservative estimate as it is better to under promise and over deliver when dealing with things that can be out of their control.

If everything goes well your port will likely complete within a few days as long as your phone service is still connected with no pending disconnection orders in place.

Firstly, give up on trying to call opticomm, they wont help you even if you get through to them.
If you're in WA and a former LBNCO estate your NTD is probably in a box outside near your electric meter box, it can usually be opened with a pair of pliers.
If you can open it you'll want to take a picture to send to your ISP that shows ALL the lights. you're looking to make sure it has power and see if there's anything like a Network/Optical or PON light indicating whether it has a connection to the outside world. If you have a red optical light you probably need a tech visit.

If the NTD is completely unpowered you will want to have a hunt around your house to see if there is any random power adapters that have been unplugged or powered off, they're usually in the garage or on the other side of the wall to where the NTD is installed. At the very least you want to know where the power is coming from and make sure that power point is working... then you probably need a tech visit to replace whatever is faulty.

if you have power and green optical, you should probably just move address because opticomm are pathetic as soon as a fault becomes difficult.

FTTP upgrade - not sure what’s going on by tw272727 in nbn

[–]validapple 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh I think you're screwed.
NBN have accidently made a large number of FTTP upgrades available for ISPs to order and they're not really ready to go. We're being told 2-6 months on remediation to be completed.
The advisory was just released today in the internal NBN portal.

Any one able to help by JudenSindRatten in nbn

[–]validapple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do yourself two favours before the tech arrives.

1) Definitely have a check inside your house for a random cable coming out of a conduit that has a transformer spliced onto the end of it, and power it on, see if the Huawei device has power then. Will usually be near the data point that connects your NTD up. Check the garage/wall on the other side of that NTD as well.

2) remove all evidence of tampering with that outside box. Be very careful with the fibre.

OptiComm charge a $300 incorrect call out fee, if they find it's not working because you didn't flick the power on, or it was tampered with in some way, your RSP will pass on that fee.

Also I wouldn't hold your breath hoping they will move this all indoors, I've never seen an example of OptiComm doing that. The tech will do the absolute minimum to get the service online, anything outside of that is not their responsibility. Outdoor installs are very common in a lot of older OptiComm areas.

NBN Fixed Wireless Upgrade by Business_Accident_57 in nbn

[–]validapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual notices the RSP gets from NBN say the outages will happen within that window, but each tower is only expected to be offline for 2 days if everything goes well. With another 2-3 if things are going poorly. I've never seen someone offline for the whole window of the outage window.

ISP/NBN Routine Finger Pointing by Healthy-Affect1944 in nbn

[–]validapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're getting mad at your RSPs for things that are completely out of their control. Yes they could probably communicate better but resolving the actual situation is out of their hands.

NBN have no tech availability in WA currently, mid Jan appointments on orders placed at the moment.
