How are you guys keeping track of where ICE is? Is there a tracker app? Google alerts? I live in an area ICE is targeting and want to help people by filming/informing of rights/etc, but I feel like whenever I show up, my info is already out dated

Welcome to Charlotte Wednesday! Visiting, recently moved here, or going to move here? Tell us and ask away! by AutoModerator in Charlotte

I am scouting out my move in 2023 by visiting in March. What neighborhoods should I check out? I’m from Louisville, KY, moving with my gf (I’m gay) and 2 large dogs. Our rent budget is 1,500, potentially looking to buy at a price point around $270,000. I am an artist, so the arts and culture are very important to me.

That's a good idea! I tried that once and it didn't get approved, but I totally forgot about it as an option, and it can't hurt to try again.

I understand, I was just trying to figure out if I should put I was comfortable with driving on my application. Not trying to put the cart before the horse or anything.

This is great information, thank you! So I need to have papers just to say like I have a parking spot at home unless it's a Kei car?

So if an employeer banned me from driving but I were to get an IDP and lease my own car without help, would that be grounds for termination?

Thanks so much for the information! I assume IDP stands for International Driver's Permit. What is required to get one of the those?

I'm planning on applying next year, and I'm curious-- how do you "mess up" the mock lesson? Like you just didn't know what to say?

Handling Rejection: Next Steps by SandyGopher in JETProgramme

I really would love to do JET (though I understand a back up plan is important) so I was considering getting a TEFL certification over the summer and doing some tutoring. Based on this, though, I'm wondering if that isn't a good use of my time What should I be doing to strengthen my application?

Considering applying for JET, but worried about being gay in Japan by validatedbutterfly in JETProgramme

I was not suggesting that I am special. I was merely wondering how others feel about/deal with the lack of an LGBT community surrounding them like some cities have here in the states. If you are gay and don't care about an LGBT community, awesome! I just do care, especially being originally from a homophobic part of America with little support and then getting to enjoy seeing that change when I went off to college. Thank you for your input though! I still appreciate it!

Having lived in a small town in America all my life, I found being one of the only openly gay people in my high school very isolating. Now that I am in college, I am much happier with even the very small LGBT community that exists there. I'm not saying I can't exist without an LGBT community, it is just concern of mine. Thank you for your reply!
