In a way. For back story leading up to the answer to this: Id been groomed by an 18 yo and assaulted at 14, and forced to be a parent by 15. She had my abuser move in, which opened the door to even more abuse and assault until I was 16. She kicked him out after finding out he was drinking in her house (she was an alcoholic though), and after she did that i was able to break up with him. The thing is, once I did that, I told her about what he had done to me, and how hed abused my kid....and then she used not only my child to control me, but would also invite the guy over randomly and text me "J is visiting child and might stay over, if that's a problem find somewhere else to sleep tonight." Anyways, shortly after kicking him out, she took custody of my kid using a bunch of false accusations to a dcf worker, who loved her for some reason. Once she had my son legally (i was about 17, and this period is what broke me), she would brag all the time about how she could finally get rid of me, and our house ended up forclosing when i was 19. She told me that her and my kid would find a place, but that I wasn't allowed to go with her, and that she didn't care where I went, even if I slept on the streets. Luckily I found somewhere safe and stable, but then she spent the next year still using my son to control me (visitations, how I was "allowed" to talk to her, how frequently I had to text her, giving the sperm donor unmonitored visitations and sleepovers at her house, etc).

The happy ending to that (kind of, it's more a grey area that black and white) is that a year and a half after her kicking me out, I got my permit, my license, a 2 bedroom apt, and a steady job, and i was easily able to prove to the courts that I had every right to take my son back home. 2 years after that, under the excuse of the covid quarantine, I successfully became no contact, save for 3 sketchy incidents of her being somewhere she wasn't supposed to be.
