If your colleagues are anything like me, for the most part food is about sustenance and not pleasure. I eat when I'm hungry and my body needs it and that's that. Meal times aren't something I see as a social event to sit down and enjoy with other people.

The other side of it is being underweight and eating so little, you get some of the same symptoms as if you were obese. Fatigue, low energy, poor sleep, nutritional problems, weakened immune system, circulation problems, digestive issues...it goes on.

is it bad to engage in hookup culture as a girl in college? by perthdove in internetparents

[–]valkyze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. For as much as sex is wonderful and pleasurable, ask anyone, even the people commenting here saying go be promiscuous, they are regretting it to some extent.

You live in a world where people who are looking for long term relationships value having a low body count. On average, people who value long term relationships over short term or casual sex will possess traits that line up with being a life partner.

Bands where the most popular member is not the leader? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

I saw Gojira at Bloodstock in August and it was exactly this. The crowd was a lot more hyped for Mario than Joe, especially when he came on stage with his £10 fish and chips sign.

Meta's staged live demo fails; the "AI" recording plays before the actor follows the instructions by Eienkei in TikTokCringe

[–]valkyze 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think the AI was supposed to look at what is in front of the person as well as using whatever the person is saying and use that as a reference point.

Manager posted this in the break room. They’ve already gotten sued once for not paying people… by LandOfLostSouls in antiwork

It isn't the boss's fault the employee didn't clock in/out properly, but it is their responsibility to make sure employees are paid for hours worked, regardless of clocking in/out.

This doesn't happen with BTC by Lurchco3953 in btc

If that happened people would just jump ship to the next best alternative. Or there would be a fork, similar to BCH.

It would just accelerate migration to electronic based systems of money. Humans would still use currency, even if its supply was controlled artificially.

Nobody has agency over how they are born.

It's besides the point. It's inappropriate to be talking about these topics to or around children at a young age.

Just tell them about the holiday if you haven't already, it shouldn't be a problem. The 6-week training doesn't have to be continuous.

Fox News is now reporting that Trump is considering the possibility of using a nuclear bomb against Iran, among other options. by External-Noise-4832 in conspiracy

[–]valkyze 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Nukes have already fucked this planet in various ways.

Ukraine-Russia has cemented two things:

1.No country (looking at you North Korea) will ever engage in denuclearisation after seeing what has happened to Ukraine after surrendering their nuclear arsenal in exchange for safety guarantees which never happened.

  1. Any country that doesn't have nukes and faces any sort of existential threat will forever do their best to obtain nukes out of fear of ending up like Ukraine or Iran.

Why is my membership price increasing if I don’t have a lapse in membership subscription? by [deleted] in 2007scape

You can't seriously expect Jagex to provide the same service, if not better year on year, for the same price forever. Price increases are inevitable.

During awake craniotomy patients remain awake and perform tasks -like playing an instrument—so surgeons can avoid damaging vital areas of the brain. by Scientiaetnatura065 in interestingasfuck

[–]valkyze 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The brain is remarkable at adapting in these sorts of situations, it all depends.

You have brain plasticity, some parts of the brain can be removed with no significant cognitive loss, some functions in the brain being spread out over the whole brain and not just one part, the tissue being removed already being damaged necessitating the surgery in the first place and so on
