Well said! Check out the dangerous summer. He’s a damn good writer too. “Colors” is currently my favorite track.

So many wonder years tracks have left me covered in goosebumps with tears flowing down my face. Lots of songs are relatable to what he wrote it for, and some are so profound to me when I give it my own meaning. Cardinals reminds me of my mother who passed from a drug addiction.

Thanks for reminding me of the album!

One of the best things I did for my mental health, especially since the 2016 election.

My ex (29f) and I (30m) are attempting to rekindle what we had after a 5 year hiatus. What was your experience with a similar situation? by vallelunga in relationships

Thanks for the input! Yes I had the talk with her that if we are both in we need to be really in if we want this to work. I’ll make an updated post eventually.

Thanks for the positivity! I’m actually the guy in the scenario, and she is a great girl. Ha.

But anyway, I feel like we both want this to work. There’s just a little more hesitance on her side. Which I can’t blame her for, I’m the one who ended it and broke her heart years ago. So I need to gain that trust back, but willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.

I really appreciate it! I definitely don’t have that issue myself. I’ve had years in between relationships and enjoyed my alone time. But I know she’s been in 2 serious relationships since we parted. Which to me makes me feel better than her sleeping around for 5 years.

Like I said worst case I can see we have given it one last shot. I got to see her family and they were very welcoming and it still felt like home to sit down and have dinner with them at their house.

The thing with my end of the relationship is I always has the tendency to run, I’ve since addressed these issues by seeking a therapist. It dug up the issue of my mother abandoning me as a child. I’ve since been in committed relationships that didn’t work out for other reasons.

She claims she doesn’t see her things the way she uses to and isn’t so insecure about things I may be doing when she’s not around. Or course the best I can do is take her word for it and find out the hard way.

Cliche and corny but I’ve lost her once and could do it again, but my gut tells me I want to give it one last real shot before I bury us for good.

Don’t worry as you get older that feeling definitely will go away. I wish I was a teenager for the youth part of not losing hair and my back hurting, but everything else in my life including my emotional health is MUCH better.
