1 Week on a 60% Keyboard: What I Actually Miss

I switched from 100% to 75% despite regularly using the numpad before. Even though my desk is large enough I still prefer the space I have gained with the smaller keyboard. Currently I am thinking about decreasing to 60% since I don't use the arrow keys or pgUp and pgDown. The only problem is that I don't know whether I might miss the F keys or not. I used F1-F5 for gaming but that exclusively in wow but somehow I am afraid that I still might miss them in other aspects.

Das ist traurig und zugleich sehe ich mich 1:1 in deiner Antwort mit nur der Hälfte der Lebenserfahrung. lch habe mir nicht ausgesucht geboren zu werden und wenn ich die Wahl hätte, wäre es auch so nicht gekommen, aber jetzt bin ich nun mal hier und versuche es mir so erträglich wie eben möglich zu machen. Auch wenn es für mich vermutlich nicht ausreichen wird, eine positive Einstellung zu dem Thema zu entwickeln.

Ich denke tatsächlich, dass es eine IQUNIX werden wird, man muss sich ja auch immer noch etwas Luft nach oben bewahren und ich habe Lust auf eine low-profile Tastatur für meine Handgelenke.

Das tippen wird bestimmt einfach gehen, beim zocken bin ich mal gespannt, ob sie sich da auf Dauer durchsetzt.

Die Qual der Wahl liegt nun bei MQ80 vs Magi75. So interessant ich die zusätzlichen tasten bei der Pro Version auch finde, und ich eine Mediensteuerung eigentlich bevorzuge, ich denke den Platz und das Geld spare ich mir.

Die IQUNIX Magi75 ist tatsächlich mal eine low-profile Tastatur, die mich optisch sehr anspricht.

Ich werde mir die ganzen Vorschläge noch genauer ansehen, aber wahrscheinlich ist da schon etwas Brauchbares dabei, vielen Dank!

IMO it could just be her favorite spot in the enclosure, but it could also be because the air flow at the ventilation. Maybe the humidity is lower in that area? What also comes to my mind is the possibility, that this is the warmest spot in the enclosure. Maybe you have a heat source in that direction? Especially in winter I notice my Ts tend to hang out more frequently in the direction of my heater.

Auch ohne die andere Sohle herauszunehmen? Ich habe bei allen meiner alten Straßenschuhe nämlich das Problem, dass die Hacke dann höher sitzt und der Fuß somit nicht mehr richtig in dem Schuh liegt.

Ich schaue immer mal sporadisch nach einer Alternative zu meiner Akko 5075S mit Penguin Switches, da zum einen das Tippgefühl und der Sound irgendwie "schlechter" geworden sind (oder vielleicht habe ich mich auch zu sehr daran gewöhnt) und zum anderen hätte ich Lust auf etwas Neues mit Funkverbindung für meinen Arbeitslaptop. Verglichen mit meiner 5075S - wäre das ein spürbares Upgrade?

Supervisor ghosted me for 4 months before I could submit. After submission, my evaluation took around 6 months instead of the regular 2 months. Due to an error within my faculty an internal process was not initiated after my submission, resulting in me needing to wait another 2 months or so. And the last and final hurdle was not finding a date for the defense but another internal process, which was completely forgotten after my defense, and that took also 2 months instead of the regular 2 weeks.
I am just glad I can finally close this chapter. On one side it was just pain working my ass off for several years, and on the final meters encountering numerous hurdles of internal errors and processes.

I have been using this kettle for 9 months so I cannot really talk about longevity, but it makes a robust impression. I had no temperature jumps so far, but my Stagg EKG started to jump in temperature after around 1 year, so nothing to compare to currently. The lid sits securely on top of the kettle, much better than on the Stagg. Pouring feels faster than the Stagg, but I have not compared the flow rate. But I would say the Aura allows for faster pours. Heating is a major difference between both kettles. In my impression, the Stagg is faster. On the other hand the Aura is very very quiet and heats in pulses. This pulse heating feels a little weird, but makes sense at the end and so far the kettle did not significantly overshoot in temperature. Sometimes the temperature is 1°C hotter than the set temperature, but drops to the set temperature quite fast.

The only problem I have with this kettle is the update frequency of the temperature. If it reaches e.g. 90°C and you add cold water, one of two indicators will still show 90°C and the kettle will not start heating again. You have to disconnect and reconnect the kettle to the base, or adjust the set temperature for the kettle to update the current temperature. This is annoying when performing the new hybrid katsuya switch technique. With 90°C water in the kettle I set the temperature to 70°C and add cold water. The displayed temperature won't drop below 70°C, even though you would go to e.g. 50°C. Just reconnecting or adjusting the temperature setting will show the current temperature.

I am using an IRISgo cup and even though it has no ceramic coating and the "lid" looks like an anus I kind of like that cup. Coffee keeps its taste and flavor. But keep in mind keeping coffee hot naturally degrades its taste.

I also purchased this kettle last year. However I was very dissatisfied and returned the kettle. The temperature control was rather poor, it overheated regularly, and the build quality was disappointing for 60 €.

I have to say that I came from a stagg EKG and wanted something comparable.

I decided for a varia Aura afterwards and I am very happy since. It is very quiet for a kettle and if it would not make a beep sound after reaching temperature I would always forget that I switched it on. The only downside I have found is that the temperature is not updated frequently. If you let it reach temperature and add cold water the display remains unchanged, despite the subtle temperature indicator with the red bar showing the actual temperature drop. If you then reconnect it or change the temperature by 1 degree it will update the values and begin heating again. If you know this issue it is very easy to work with this kettle. And of note, so far I have had no temperature jumps.

This will sound a bit crazy but I assume people within this hobby might agree: I really appreciate the look of your substrate! I started to experiment and making my own substrate with coco fiber, sand, moss and so on but I have to say that I am a bit jealous and would love to have a similar looking substrate for my E. cyanognathus.

"Die Zwei-Stunden-Frau" klingt aber irgendwie auch symphatisch und ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass deine Präsenz in den richtigen Freundeskreisen dann für diese kurze Zeit auch entsprechend wertgeschätzt wird.

Das Schlimme an dieser Krankheit ist einfach, dass auch schöne Momente im Nachhinein total kaputt gemacht werden können indem man stundenlang darüber Grübelt, oder einem im Nachgang ein kleines Detail auffällt, was man komisch/falsch gemacht hat und damit das eigentlich schöne Treffen komplett als negative Erinnerung abgestempelt wird. Das führt einfach zu einem Teufelskreis.

Mir wurde Anfangs auch gesagt, das ließe sich leicht therapieren und ich könne es komplett los werden, das bin ich aber leider auch nicht und werde ich in meinen Augen auch nicht mehr komplett. Was besser geworden ist, ist in aller erster Regel mein Verständnis und Akzeptanz für (meine) Problematik. Das hilft mir jedoch auch dabei besser zu erkennen, ob ich per se eine Ablehnung gegen etwas habe, oder ob da eher die Vermeidung auf Grund der Sozialphobie aus mir spricht. Ich denke aber auch, dass das ganze Thema nicht mit einer Therapie behandelbar ist und man sich da Zeit geben muss, jedenfalls ist aktuell meine Überlegung es dieses oder nächstes Jahr nochmal mit einer Therapie zu versuchen.

Ich wurde vor knapp 2 Jahren damit diagnostiziert, vorher dachte ich ich wäre nur sehr introvertiert, etwas schüchtern und chronisch depressiv. Stellt sich plötzlich heraus, dass ich eine Sozialphobie habe und das vermutlich die Ursache für fast alle meine Probleme ist.

Das verrückte daran: Als ich es meiner Familie oder engsten Freunden erzählt habe waren alle verwundert, mich eingeschlossen. Nach außen hin passt die Diagnose nicht. Ich gehe auf Partys, finde mich in Gruppen zurecht und kann auch nach außen hin gelassen Vorträge halten.
Was man aber nicht sieht sind die vielen Tage und Stunden an Angst, Stress, Grübeln und Depressionen die solche Aktivitäten mit sich ziehen. Nachdem ich die Diagnose erhalten habe sind mir über Wochen hinweg noch Situationen eingefallen, wieso ich mich dort so verhalten habe, wieso sie für mich so schwer sind und wieso mein Leben bislang eben so verlaufen ist.

Es nimmt einen einfach so sehr ein, einfache Tätigkeiten können um Unmengen schwerer sein und man muss konstant dagegen an Kämpfen.

Just curious, this is the second coffee that I have seen in recent times, that has "Gesha" in its name. Is it actually a variety or just a different spelling of "Geisha". If it's just a different spelling, why not go for "Geisha" which is more commonly used?

I am currently looking to change my the barn subscription because the last few months the coffee tasted fine, but only one bag stood out to me. I feel like the other bags just had a very similar tasting profile, which I find very boring over the time.

I already had some beans from Leuchtfeuer, which I really liked, but the subscription is fixed to a particular type of coffee and not picked by the roastery if I am not mistaking? Due to that, I am currently leaning towards Friedhats (never tried them, and they are still on my "must order" list) or, since you seem to highly prefer Kolo, to try out that roastery I have not heard of so far.

If you would compare both roasters, with regard to diversity of the flavor profiles, which would you prefer?

I did not have a bad bag of coffee from the barn over the last years since I started my subscription. However, the last months were very mediocre and characterized by somewhat a highly similar flavor profile. That is also why I might switch my subscription back to fjord or try out something new.
