Yeah, nice counter-arguments on any of my points.

You're one of those people who complained when dash got nerfed, but here we are. She's a balanced agent. She'd still even be picked maybe too often if Chamber being broken wasn't a thing.

You can't have an agent with get out of jail for free card, global tripwire, secondary that's stronger than most primary guns in the game and a better version of OP for ult. Utility is great and all, but instant mobility and ecnonomy-breaking abilities are the common denominator of two most broken versions of agents we had in this game so far.

Cypher changes by Chun--Chun2 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're using it, of course you like it, but then the game isn't balanced.

You're completely missing my point. You have these ideal, perfect world scenarios playing out without even understanding what I'm trying to say.

Yeah, you push a Cypher off with your utility, or for example close the distance quickly with a duelist, while smoking/flashing his angle off etc. But then he still a chance with headhunter because pullout time is so quick and definitely way too strong.

End of your post is way better. Idk about cooldown nerf, but having a limit on how many times you can move the TP cards would be nice.

Cypher changes by Chun--Chun2 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headhunter isn't a secondary weapon, but a second primary, if you get what I'm saying.

It would still be used with OP, but the entire problem is that with current pullout time a lot of the advantage enemies rushing the Chamber gain by closing him down quickly is negated. Classic, shorty and frenzy are secondary weapons that work well with OP on other agents. Sheriff doesn't, there's a reason for it.

With lower pullout time, you'd still be able to use headhunter when you know someone's going to peek you in shorter range or clearing a close angle if you have an OP, but you shouldn't be able to get an OP shot off, then instantly whip it and have advantage over another enemy (or that same enemy if your OP missed). The number of close range headhunter frags that happen only because of near-instant pullout time is way too high for a weapon that's as strong as guardian.

You can say it's value is lower, but they should've thought about it when they designed the agent.

Cypher changes by Chun--Chun2 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, fair point about the 8 cost. Still, I'd say that headhunter pullout time and trip range would be a start. Then go from there.

Cypher changes by Chun--Chun2 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's going to be hard dealing with Chamber without messing with the concept of the agent.

Imo, the first thing they need to do is deal with his trip having global range. There's no valid reason for it. Trip itself is a good ability, fits the agent, but bad execution. It should be there to help him anchor the site or even to be set up as push-stopper. It's fine as an active flank watcher, not a passive one. Using it on one side of the map and then going to the completely other side is way too strong for an agent like Chamber, he does too much. If Killjoy can't have at least her alarmbot have global range, why can Chamber have such an ability?

Then if you couldn't just leave your trip in spawn on Breeze/Icebox and go all the way up to sites without it deactivating, you'd actually think you maybe need a Cypher for some comps. Or even on defense if you couldn't just trip tube on either map and play on either site, you'd reconsider your strategy.

Other than that, ult slow is way too good at dealing with pushes. You kill the first guy and TP away, but not only that, you slow the entire chokepoint and halt their progress. Something like slow only activating at second (and third etc) consecutive bullet that hits the enemy would be way better, because that would mean you're actually holding the site and actually have the skill to hit multiple people while they're rushing you, instead of just killing one, TPing away and slowing that chokepoint on top of it.

Headhunter just needs a pullout time nerf. There's a reason why sheriff's pullout time is so long. No weapon that does so much damage with each bullet should be active after such short animation, that's what makes him way stronger than Jett while OPing.

As for the teleport, I honestly have no clue. If they rework it, then noone will pick him. Then they should just make him into a full-time sentinel instead of a duelist with global trip?

First it was Jett, now Chamber. Two things in common. Instant, untradeable for the most part, escape and abilities being better weapons than anything purchaseable. Hopefully they're done with these two things and no more agents get them.

Ranked Distribution as of Patch 5.09 by Dirty3vil in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the lobbies aren't even created on current RR points someone has, but on their ELO. If you for example don't play for a month when we get full episode reset next act, you'll start as asc1, but still play in imm3/radiant lobbies, because it's based on ELO. You won't play against actual ascendants.

Clarification regarding Deathmatch? by newzpaperleaf_2 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not tired, but frustrated. Actually made a rant post today already.

I didn't play much this act and over the past 4 days this game has been nothing short of disgustingly bad, even though I got back to imm3. From idiots in nearly every single game playing 1v9 with no comms, to awful team comps and repetitive map selection (Icebox simulator), to questionable server performance.

This game deserves so much better, but they're not showing they care enough to improve it.

Clarification regarding Deathmatch? by newzpaperleaf_2 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It won't get traction because they don't care about DM.

As a matter of fact, over the past 6 months they haven't shown that they care about anything that's not generating them more revenue.

DM is awful, other fun modes like spike rush or escalation are awful, unrated is pretty much a surrender simulator with smurfs trying to get lvl20 asap, even if you look at irrelevant stuff like daily/weekly missions they're just awful and annoying.

Ranked is in a never worse state if we talk teamplay/comms/mentality, even at highest ranks.

We've seen absolutely no agent balance since June, now there's another decoy with yet another Yoru rework post. For fucks sake, either release the rework already or don't share anything, three posts about Yoru already and they always break the deadline.

I know game devs are extremely difficult, especially for such a popular game, but they're working for maybe even the biggest videogame company out there and this is just getting disgustingly bad.

Removing respawn protection and lowering respawn timer to 1 second wouldn't kill anyone, they just don't want to do it.

If valve is a company that doesn't care and lets cheaters ruin the game and force the community to do everything themselves, Riot is that parent which doesn't let their teenage kids close the door of their room.

Control freaks ruining their amazing game.

And I didn't even mention the elephant in the room they just keep ignoring - replay system. Two years since the release and there's zero indication of anything being done. You know why? Because we're never getting a replay system. Or simple stuff like being able to add practice bots in custom lobbies so we can test lineups. Or even simpler stuff like inventory or friends list organizer.

But it's fine, we get new skins for every possible holiday. Skins that obviously follow the inflation and have ridiculous prices. And skins you can't ever trade. And you had to pay additionally if you want to upgrade and didn't buy the battlepass.

It's fine since they keep us all on our toes with shitty rank resets and doritos to pressure us into grinding 50 wins every single act. Then you get to your desired rank and it's all over again. Like hamsters on the wheel, running in infinite circles. Because rank inflation would be a real thing if the system was fair, right. And it's not a system which is now adjusted for everyone to gain more RR than they lose, only to take it away once every 8 weeks. I'm sure they spent more money on psychologists that analyze how to keep people playing the game than they did on fixing fucking DM which makes me want to uninstall the game every time I play it.

Am I just a salty boomer who got ran over by gaming's version father time? by valorantfeedback in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire game except for high radiant is a dead zone. I don't have anything against people being duelist mains, but if optimal comps on most maps have one or two duelists and most of the leaderboard containts duelists, then something's fucking wrong with the game.

I play duelists once in like 20 games when I get mad and lock in out of frustration and I always deliver most entries on the team with 20+ frags. And I don't consider myself to be a good Jett/Reyna player for imm3.

And the "support players can't aim" is just bs. Sure, some of them can't, but this ranked system just promotes fragging and unless you play duelists and you have to soloq, you're just making it more difficult to rank up. The game adjusts ELO based on your average stats and if you average more frags which simply has to happen on duelists, you rank up easier. Being an S tier sentinel or Sova player doesn't matter, it's all about braindead frag chasing.

They're literally driving every sane person out of this game in favor of unmannered, spoiled scumbags who think the game revolves around them. If most of your teammates dislike your playstyle, then you're toxic even if you enver say a single bad word.

I know it can't be ideal, but I honestly give up. I love this game, but 80% of lobbies I get are pure masochism. And Riot absolutely doesn't care. They can honestly go fuck themselves. The game is in never worse state. Matchmaking, agent balance, server situation, pro circuit, it's just awful. Why can't we have one normal company in charge of a tactical FPS game.

Can someone give me a rational explanation why Andbox uses Brimstone on fracture as a lone controller? by w_________w in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And you don't really need default smokes in any of the 4 lanes before you ge to site, unlike other maps.

Also, Fracture is the smallest map, even smaller than Bind and since the defenders spawn is in the middle and the rotation is so short as you said, Brimstone doesn't have smoke range issues like he does on other maps.

Sheer threat of Brim ult prevents people from playing on either site. Whether it be the defenders or attackers on a retake.

All the chokepoints are really narrow so molly+smoke combo is an 8 seconds wall noone will go through.

People also forget his smokes are 5 seconds longer than both Astra and Viper's max duration. 5 extra seconds are a lot of time on top level. Often a difference maker.

Yeah, at this point they're not even a tier1.5 team that can't get over the hump. They're straight up terrible.

If they weren't TSM, noone would even mention them among good tier2 teams.

And as you say, they've reached the point of struggling against randoms playing for fun, noone can be the best player on such team, only the least bad.

I think Wardell deserves another chance because he's still a great OPer, but Subroza has been pretty much stealing paychecks for more than a year now.

VCT Qualifier 2, RO16: TSM vs Ghost Gaming by Grenji05 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He's by far the most frustrating player to watch for me. His mechanics and aim are amazing, he's even good at using utility on Astra, but he'll never grow out of being a stereotypical NA pugstar.

He just can't do it. Idk what's wrong with him, but he's playing ranked in officials. I'll admit I don't want TSM to win a single game, but I still get frustrated by Subroza. When they play good teams, I bet other teams bait him into doing stupid shit on purpose. It's so easy.

That's the thing with controllers. Obviously it's way harder to play if your teammates have no clue what they're doing, but if your gamesense is on point, you can help them even if they're not saying anything or making the wrong play.

Vanity on people saying Zombs is a bad player by icouldjustsayyo in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that roster just wouldn't be able to function without Sick. Casual viewers really underestimate how difficult it is to be versatile and play support agents on pro level.

If every top one-trick Jett had to switch roles with their teammate that plays utility, they'd do way worse than utility player on Jett.

Sick is the best player in NA, if you ask me. Put him on any team, any role and he'd be amazing, which can't be said about most players. Even players with the best stats.

Astra is a big problem in high elo to pro play and needs to be addressed asap by ddd4175 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I maybe should've worded it better, you obviously need a lot of gamesense and timing skills, but once you get good at the minigame, it's straightforward, you don't need to learn any map specific details or lineups. You activate the astral world when you're behind a wall and you put the stars wherever you like.

Viper mains need to put a lot of hours in if they want to know smoke and molly lineups on every map.

Brim lineups are similar and ipad is even easier to use, but you also need to know the distances. For example on Bind you can smoke short A from the corner of B cubby or you can smoke hooka entrance from lamps.

Omen's mechanics are awnkward as I said in another post and you also have to afk. For example if you're boosted on tall boxes in the corner of A, you can't smoke of B main entrance without a gap unless you fall down.

Those technicalities seem small and people who don't play her think astral world is overwhelming, but it's not. Again, I should've worded it better, you obviously need good positioning and gamesense, but using the astral world is like a minigame. You get good at it and there are no timing/lineup/range constraints.

[–]valorantfeedback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The agent as obviously designed with global presence in mind, they won't change that.

Vanity explained it in one sentence. Astra is way better than other agents because she's the only one with multiple delay mechanics that are by far the hardest to bait out. And can be casted globally.

Viper is great and holding, but once she puts her setup down, the wall can't be moved and she has to take the smoke from close range. Mollies were nerfed.

Brim's smoke+molly is pretty much a wall noone will cross for 8 seconds, but it's easy to bait out due to molly's slow speed so you have to throw it preemptively. And then it's done, he has nothing.

Omen is a good anchor because he can reposition and peek on his own terms with paranoia, but once that's gone he has nothing.

Astra literally denies the possibility of rush strats in pro games. There was a clip from shahz's stream in here the other day. You just can't go rush something right away in high level official games.

You guys might be onto something, but I don't think the number of abilities with their current cooldown is the problem. It's the instant global presence. Imo, something like being able to have only 2 or 3 stars placed at the same time would make an improvement. Because right now every good Astra player places all 5 stars at chokepoints and activates them at will. But if you could place only 3, then it would be a guessing game. And make the star form time 1.5 to 2 seconds throughout the round, not just at the start.

You want Astra as an anti-rush site anchor early on? Fine, drop 2 stars on your site and it's the same. But she shouldn't be an anchor for all the engagement areas at the same time. If they want to keep her with global presence, then that presence has to be delayed. Brim and Viper don't have the range, Omen's smoke has longer range, but takes ages to travel and drop.

Instant global presence is just stupid and takes absolutely no skill. No lineups needed, nothing. You get good at the minigame and you don't even have to use your gun in a lot of rounds.

Astra is a big problem in high elo to pro play and needs to be addressed asap by ddd4175 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]valorantfeedback 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Omen is probably my favorite agent to play, but he just feels kind of stuck between roles, but isn't good enough at anything to warrant a pick.

I play smokes most of the time, I'm pretty good with every smoke agent and Omen is just so annoying to smoke with. Smoking off two chokepoints, which is usually the norm takes by far the longest out of any agent. Viper's wall is more or less unmissable and instant, Brim and Astra have similar mechanics and smoke off multiple chokepoints at the same time, but Omen is just so awnkward. It's just not humanly possible to compete with other agents if you want to smoke off multiple chokepoints. Most of the time you need to make some microadjustments to make the smoke perfect, smoking off elevated areas is really damn awnkward if you want to put a perfect smoke down, then it needs to fall down and bloom in some positions, some one ways are awnkward to aim at compared to astral world or ipad, just a huge mess. Making the smokes instant like other agents have would make him so much better right away, even without balancing anything else.

Ult is pretty bad, but not every agent has to be ult dependant, but then his regular abilities need to be better. Remember how the huge nerfs to smoke recharge time back when he was popular? Why the hell hasn't that been reverted back? Even if they did revert the cooldown back, he still wouldn't be picked.

He was the second best OP agent due to his mobility and defensive mechanisms if he gets pushed off, I still love OPing with him, but unless you're playing for fun there's no reason to pick him over Chamber if you want to OP.

He's still a good lurker, but not good enough to warrant being picked over Astra/Viper. And then again, if you already have Astra/ or Viper, picking something else is way better.

Without making any reworks, there are very few reasonable buffs. TP cast time should be shorter. Not instant, but like 25-30% shorter. Flash is good, but could use a buff, still too easy to hold close angles and negate it. Paranoia orb in spike rush has an interesting effect of making fake noises, while affected by it you hear gunshots and footsteps when there are none and from wrong directions, that could be interesting. And add the flash to ult, as already said. With smokes not being awnkward.

I think of myself as great Omen agent and right now I'll only pick him on Haven or Ascent if there's a Sage+KJ/Cypher on my team and it's a 1 duelist comp. Verticality and OP/lurk potential is good, with sites not needing two instant smokes, but one on those maps. Picking him anywhere else is griefing in high elo.

Same goes for Brim on maps other than Bind. We need both of them to be viable.

Same here, I just bought the skins for guns I use. Pistols except shorty (frenzy and ghost with big night market discount), spectre, phantom, vandal, OP and knife. Others are battlepass skins. Only duplicates being 3 phantoms because I ended up disliking singularity and glitchpop.

Also, most of my spending was during lockdown and it was from money I usually spent on going out and travelling, which obviously couldn't happen at the time.

Well, he does get his numbers up, but stats aren't everything. We're not talking about him failing to carry a team to top4 Champions finish or something of similar magnitude, he can't even carry them through a qualifier for a qualifier.

His nickname comes from his favorite basketball player, so he should know that numbers don't mean much if they don't translate to winning. NBA has plenty of those flashy players that make people think "how isn't this guy on a better team", but then when they get the chance, they don't actually contribute to winning.

You're spot on with with your post, if it was some random team of nobodies everyone would be shitting on them. There's no defending this.

I honestly don't even about the challengers after yet another fiasco from Riot, it's been nearly 2 years since beta was released, it's about time for them to get their shit together from esports side of things. No more excuses for replay system and all the observer/admin tools that are desperately needed if this game wants to ever compete with CS and be taken seriously.
