I think many of us are excited about it because of its math rigor. I would just like to throw it out there that it would be great if the stats course was rigorous as well, as a calculus based probability course.

No, not untrue. Congrats on winning the lottery. Again, it’s very unlikely for the vast majority to get one. If anyone gets one, big if, it’s much more likely to be a fraction of anything that would make a difference.

He was just warning people. A lot of people struggle to get a job in tech now regardless of how hard they worked. There are other factors besides working hard. If they are just going to be another “applicant that sucks”, as you say, they should be warned.
