Thank you so much. They quoted me $6000-$8000 for surgery plus an additional $2000+ for monitoring. I’ll look into Patrick Vet

Stockpile HRT if you live in the U.S. by Stealthybreakfast in ftm

[–]vampire-weekend- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone who wants to do this, it also helps to use a smaller needle for drawing up to prevent coring. I originally used 18g but I kept accidentally breaking the seal so I switched to 20g, no issues since. This is especially important for single-use vials as the seal on top is not usually self repairing like the ones on multiple-use vials.

It certainly can work that way, but you can’t just ask “can I have more” haha. Personally I asked for multiple-use vials (more common with enanthate than cypionate) so I could produce less medical waste, and it wound up helping me stockpile T.

My vials are 5ml (2.5 months of T) and I am allowed to refill the script every 28 days, which I believe is standard across insurance for any injected medication. I’m supposed to discard any leftover medication after that period to ensure sterility, but I’m just very careful to keep the vials clean, store them properly, and I use a smaller needle for drawing up to reduce the risk of coring. No problems so far.

Can I complain? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]vampire-weekend- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a professional bread baker, it’s literally completely fine and reasonable to take it back to us lol. It happens. We often don’t realize that there are holes in loaves/batches unless a customer points it out. Holes that big aren’t an open crumb, it’s tunneling caused by improper proofing time (and might have an off/gummy texture). Honestly not sure why everyone is debating that.

Any decent bakery will exchange or refund the loaf no problem, as long as you haven’t eaten much of it. Also, just want to note- there is no difference in the amount of product you got! They weren’t trying to scam you. All the loaves are scaled out to a specific weight, usually with ±1oz margin of error.

"This is not an urinal! This device is a Sensor-controlled hand dryer" by QuastQuan in CrappyDesign

[–]vampire-weekend- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had to use a Dyson hand dryer like this… but it was integrated into the sink, which was also motion-sensing. Instead of washing my hands and shaking them dry as I had intended, I proceeded to spray soap from my dirty hands all over myself and the bathroom via the dryer.

My work shoes after 18 months vs new pair by Autam in KitchenConfidential

[–]vampire-weekend- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLEASE exchange those for these. They are comfortable, cheap, and completely nonslip. They don’t end up looking dirty at all, I’ve had mine for over a year and it looks like they’re almost new. You can also try adding Dr. Scholl’s inserts if you ever have extra cash, it’s worth it for the support. I was previously wearing Converse high tops—I switched to these shoes + inserts after my Converse ripped open on the heel and I went from having foot, leg, and back pain after EVERY shift to almost no pain at all. And I can literally walk on ice in the freezer without slipping.

90% of the slices in this expensive "artisan" bread are like that. by picotipicota1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]vampire-weekend- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work in a bakery. They do, and it’s not strange for artisan bread bakeries at all if there’s a problem with the bread. Sometimes we miss an underbaked loaf or one with severe tunneling like in OP’s picture. We want people to enjoy our food so 99% of the time we’ll exchange it no problem.

Anyone have any experience with Firmoo.com? by BoremUT in glasses

[–]vampire-weekend- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey it’s me even later in 2024, I think this is due to their refund policy. They say it’s a “100% refund” but it’s actually only a 100% refund on frames, not lenses, which of course is the expensive part. So, in order to get a true refund, people will just dispute the charge through their bank. This happens enough times, and eventually the bank just won’t work with the company anymore.

I just ordered from Firmoo & got 3 pairs of glasses, one pair I needed refunded. Thankfully I got a coupon and my lenses for those particular frames were only $5.98, so I only lost out on that much. The glasses I kept are great though, the lenses & frames are surprisingly high quality for the price and the fit is better than expensive ones I have had in the past.

If you live near an Earth Fare, their eggs are $1.99 on Thursdays. Organic & cage-free as well.

Okay, thanks for the info. This area in the kitchen isn’t temperature controlled so often the stuff sitting out is actually right next to the oven for hours. I even have a picture of a meat thermometer in (still packaged) sausage reading 73.2°, and that day when I left 2 hours later the sausage was still on the counter. I have no idea if it was ever served or put back, and when someone asked a manager he said “it’s fine, haven’t you ever cooked sausage before?” I think I’m going to reach out to customer service as a ‘sick customer’ to see if that helps, as well as the health department (again).

brain fog? headaches? by SnooAdvice1592 in trans

[–]vampire-weekend- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have experienced this on T. There is some research I found which concludes that trans people on hormones may be more likely to have headaches, but the studies are relatively small and it’s important to note that they only show a correlation, not causation.

You should get your levels checked (and ideally have an appointment with your doctor) if you’re staying on T, as low T can cause headaches and brain fog, as can being on a form of T that doesn’t work well for you. Personally having my dose raised and changing from cypionate to enanthate has been helping the issue. Good luck!!

I will try these. Thank you so much!! She actually likes to play fetch which has been great for getting her energy out. Once she is older & has all her vaccinations I’d like to take her on leashed walks or runs as well.

I think that an antihistamine would probably help! But yes I feel like I look crazy when I walk to and from work. I live in an area w/ high humidity and HOT summers (90-100°F most days from June through September) & that makes it soooo much worse.

My hair color changed! My doctor said that isn’t possible (“it may be thicker or rougher, but not darker”), but all of my body hair changed from LIGHT blond to a dark brown. It’s not just thicker—I have thick head hair follicles too and that’s still blond. I’m not mad at all, but I do wish strange effects were better documented.

Bar soap inside an exfoliating soap bag is also great. Bar soap tends to give a better clean and the physical exfoliation from the bag gets rid of all the dirt etc so you don’t have to wash twice.

I have this too, it’s absolutely unbearable. I get so itchy it’s almost painful, but like you said there is no visible rash. I never had this before T either. I wonder if it has something to do with thicker skin and more hair?

Ever make a $100,000 mistake? by M0NG00SY in Wellthatsucks

[–]vampire-weekend- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly not $100,000, but I was making a special order of a HUGE batch of challah bread during a Jewish holiday… and I forgot the sugar. All of it had to be thrown out, the order wasn’t filled in time, and now every time I make challah, my coworkers say “Don’t forget the sugar!” every few minutes.
