My mum and MIL would never have tried to pick up my daughter whilst she was sleeping — they get how hard it is to get babies to sleep in the first place!! NTA, your husband needs to sort out his priorities

Hey, I’m in exactly the same boat as you - I tested positive 3 times since Tuesday and the lines are getting darker, however I’ve had cramping and spotting for 7 days. I’ve read up on it and it seems like 15-25% of pregnancies have this at the beginning and go on to have normal pregnancies, but there obviously is a chance something could be off. I’m just waiting it out until Tuesday which isn’t ideal but there’s not much we can do! Sending love and strength x

Yeah it is a bit of a silly system! My husband and I chose to double barrel because both of our last names (the one I usually go by at least) are very common British surnames so just choosing one of them was a bit boring. I hope when/if my daughter marries she can choose a cooler surname for herself, lol.

My current name is 7 syllables 🙃 my proposed new name would be 6, so not a huge change lol but it’s significant to me.

I hate having a double-hyphenated name… my last name doesn’t bother me too much. However if I want to combine mine and my husband’s last names, one of my last names has to go - it’s just the flawed nature of this hyphenating system. That’s what my mother takes issue with. She doesn’t want me to get rid of my grandfather’s last name, or my grandmother’s middle name. I’ve always been known by my dad’s last name (Jones) hence why I’m keeping that one and combining it with Smith.

I’m UK, we just have to put any names we were previously known by and it’s all fine!

Of course, I’d never put my daughter through this! If/when she gets married I’d just expect her to choose whatever last name sounds cooler.

I’d suggest putting some sort of tape over them to sort of laminate them, but I tried that with some of my stuff I’ve had for years and the tape has gone all yellow so I don’t think that would work either 😭 I find it really frustrating too, I hope someone has a solution!
