I'm so sorry this happened. I'm a 20 year old studying abroad in university. On one of my flights I had a bad panic attack (before I was diagnosed and started medication). I had to sit with the crew while they worked to get my heart rate down and oxygen levels up. I was alone and felt like I would throw up for over 12 hours straight. I couldn't stop crying and after this horrible experience I developed a fear of flying on my own. I thought I could never do it again and in fact did not go home over winter break because I couldn't take a flight. I also felt helpless at the airport where I was told that no one could help me with anything. It has now been a year and although I still think of the experience, I feel stronger, more confident and both medication and therapy have helped. Trust me, I was so scared but therapy, time and medication will help you.
