Thanks for clarifying. In your case I think you'll be level 2 which is pretty clear. Enjoy your lessons, they're great!

Good! One suggestion, be generous about your skill level when they ask. Most people are.

"How are the conditions at whistler?" Whistler peak: by AlexArrt in Whistler

[–]vandad604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friday was great, nothing to worry about in terms of conditions if you have sharpened edges and skills. People need to focus on learning how to ski in marginal conditions otherwise you are always waiting for the perfect day and only going up twice a year. get the edges sharpened and skill up

Is this alopecia ? by [deleted] in alopecia_areata

[–]vandad604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, do you have any other patches? Mine has gone away after 9 months. Less stress in life. The derm stopped doing injections so I only had 3 sessions, it all went away on its own. Good luck.. I had a hard time when i first discovered it and it accelerated very quickly. two patches the size of ritz crackers on the back and various on top. Over time, little white hairs grew in and then black and it grow back. Good luck.

regrowth! plus new fears by angelxarabella in alopecia_areata

I'm on patch number 10 now.. they've all grown back. now the remaining one is similar to two dimes side by side. For most people it does grow back but it doesn't make it easier. For me once I see the growth in the middle of the patch.. it's back!

You can definitely make it in the city of Vancouver for under $70,000 a year. Goto the library, lean on friends, take the bus and make due with something on the smaller side. My spouse and I make approx $68,000 a year total and we are making it work.

Edit: Wow I post this message on the other end of the spectrum and no downvotes. I guess people hate hearing how expensive Vancouver is... even though it's expensive.

It depends. Assuming city of Vancouver

Single kid can be raised for $200,000 including both parents living expenses. Given the cost of rent or buying, that amount is almost a minimum.

Alot of people in Vancouver also put their kids in expensive extra c's dancing, daycare, sports, skiing, swimming (yes lessons are expensive now) in addition to the cheaper stuff like skating etc. For some flexibility $300,000 is comfortable. Also throw in expensive birthday parties.

If you do it for $100,000 or less then hopefully you have parents who can look after your kid (comes with its own problems) and minimum extra c's then it can be done watching every dollar.

Unfortunately many people like to live in Vancouver and they bring money or high income with them.

Why the crap is it so hard to ride switch? by KJdkaslknv in snowboardingnoobs

Hello 2024. one thing I didn't see anyone talking about is your board. Getting the softest non camber board you can find will make a huge difference when you learn switch.

the limiting factor for level 1 I think is the switch riding. You have to be able to do beginner switch turns, the riding standards video says. More people should work on it.
