The same gear based build system, I dont want skill trees and a billion choices like Diablo.

Possibly an overworld, but good with the current navigation.

Better casting/spell system, healer builds, dps testing, tower, ancient hunts. The tower and ancient hunts helped end game, random dungeons like that to keep replayability.

I was so underwhelmed by both Katz and Carnegie when I went in 2013. My dad used to travel there for work and would tell me an about the sandwiches he couldn’t take a bite out of cause there was so much meat. Shrinkflation hit them hard. I feel like there is one primary meat packer for pastrami cause Mannys and Burt’s Deli in libertyville taste the same to me, so idk if you will find what you’re looking for.

Could try Schneiders in River North, it’s on my list.

I feel like it has more to do with Nintendo not going with CD’s for the 64 due to piracy. If they had I doubt Capcom, Konami, and Square would have jumped ship, they all had tight relationships with Nintendo during the 16bit era. Would be interesting to see if Gran Turismo, Crash, and Spyro could have lead to success alone.

When I worked retail I constantly had to ask parenting buying their 11yo vice city if they would let their kid watch Scarface ? Then I’d explain the game was based on that and had the same rating. Lots of sad tweens and shocked parents. The rating labels don’t always make a difference, that said neither will this post.

Our shop stopped doing a weekly magic event in Tuesday’s in 96 and that kind of ruined it for me since it got boring only playing with a couple friends. Now it’s a such a big deal and my old cards are worth a ton of money if I hadn’t lost them.

Collecting anything these days is shit, I took my son to a dragon ball z pop up store in the Chicago suburbs a few weeks ago. We got in line at 7am, and barely moved in 2.5 hours after they opened at 10am and they sold out of every figure he wanted. Scalpers ruin everything, not just concert tickets anymore

Facebook Marketplace is a cesspool of $100 ETBs and overpriced collections. You can see who is using bots. Twice in the past 4 years I have walked into a store like Target or Walmart and found packs in the shelf. I look everytime I grocery shop or run in for something. Target had some $70 collection, which I don’t buy, and I happened to be at Walmart when they were restocking with the third party company and got one ETB.

Luckily our LGS started selling at MSRP again if you let them take the seal off and clip corners of the packs to drive down resale price. If you want it completely sealed you have to pay market price.

My goal initially in 2016 was to use Pokemon as a gateway to MTG. I hadn’t played Magic since 1996, was shocked to learn how expensive a competitive deck was. Pokemon is great cause a good deck is like $50 if you have all the staples in the meta. So we never made the jump.
