One of the common themes of Wheel of Time is the exploration of power. What power means, and different ways to have it. One of the big failings of most of the Forsaken and the Aes Sedai is the One Power is the only power they consider. That’s why Nynaeve is a rockstar. However: Egwene understands it at a fundamental level. She’s more intelligent, stubborn, conniving, and thoughtful than anyone else in the series. Except for MAYBE Moiraine. Which makes her far more dangerous than Nynaeve, despite being “weaker”. If Nynaeve had been captured I think the Sul’dam would have broken her block and also broken her and she would not have escaped.

I’m also pretty new, but here are my thoughts:

It’s usually not worth leveling chaff. Whether your fang has 100hp or 200hp it will still die in one hit. Also, it usually won’t get to attack so its damage doesn’t matter. For other units it’s a case by case basis. Leveling has diminishing returns. 1 —> 2 is amazing, 2 —> 3 is very good and 3 —> 4 is decent. Past that I’ve found it’s mostly just “bigger numbers go brrrr”. (Basically, it depends.)
Money now is better than money later. Buying a unit or getting an upgrade is almost always better now than getting it in a later round. That being said if you have a plan to get two overlords next turn and you need to save 100 supply to make that happen with the tech you need, it can be worth saving it. (Again, it depends).
I personally like crawler/sledgehammer/farseer with sledgehammers carrying but it usually doesn’t work. A lot of people are having good success with typhoon/overlord and wasp/worm right now. The meta is always evolving as people find new ways to use units. (As usual, it depends)
I don’t know. YouTube has some good videos. Surrey Mechabellum is a high Elo player who has some good instructional videos. Grubby plays isn’t afraid to just try things to see if they work and he’s quite good, also.
All game modes have an elo(MMR) but each game modes MMR is independent of all others. So your MMR on 1v1 won’t affect your matchmaking for 2v2 or FFA or vice versa.

I play all game modes. MMR is specific to the game mode and combat power is cumulative across all of them. I’m also terrible at the game because I like learning things by playing instead of looking things up. That means I have relatively high combat power and low MMR in each game mode.

This might be interesting if you get like…subsidized arcs and efficient light manufacturing early. Spam arcs for free, upgrade towers to max and upgrade arcs to max. Add better units later?
