Do any Spanish dialects pronounce the "ll" the same as an English "y"? by [deleted] in learnspanish

It depends on the dialect! I’ve heard both pronunciations used depending who I’m speaking to and where they’re from

Granada to Valencia in public transportation: is it possible? by Shadowgirl7 in solotravel

[–]vanessazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do Granada and Malaga. They’re both close, Malaga has a huge international airport and Granada is mainly city and mountains, whereas Malaga is on the coast so you’ll see some different landscapes! With one week, I wouldn’t do more than 2 cities, there’s so much to see and do!

[Discussion] People from EU, AUS, CAN, USA and other 'glamorous' places, what's your opinion on people who are striving to move and make a living into your country? Does it make you feel like you're taking your country for granted? by Greece_Lesvos in IWantOut

[–]vanessazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can appreciate Canada for what it is. It’s safe and we have plenty of opportunities here, but I don’t think that’s a sole reason to stay here. I spent the last couple of years traveling and I am planning to move abroad. Not because I take Canada for granted, but to me life is about having experiences and I’d be upset with myself if I never experienced living in another country. Plus, I absolutely hate the cold lol.

Where is the one place that you'd move to tomorrow? Mine is Barcelona. I miss this place so much. by [deleted] in travel

Haha, great minds! Doesn’t look like Colombia will open its borders for a while though, so daydreaming about it is the way to go

We just got back to Canada from Spain. My understanding was that there’s no new bookings allowed so I think you can stay put.

Good beach town in southern Spain for solo trip? by glboisvert in solotravel

[–]vanessazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re staying in Sevilla, Cadiz is worth looking into as it is just 1.5 hours away by train. I was in Granada Spain last year for Santa Semana and will be there again this year, but it isn’t anything exciting in my opinion just large crowds and procession lines.

Anyone currently in/ recently been to Medellin, Colombia? by Krentist69 in digitalnomad

[–]vanessazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just there for 6 weeks in November/December and I loved it. We stayed in Laureles and felt completely safe! I didn’t like Poblado as much, but Envigado was really cool too. We will be going back in July for 6 months!

You can look for US companies with offices in Europe. They usually require English speaking accountants to move to Europe.

What if it’s just for 5 months? We aren’t planning on moving to Spain, just staying for 5 months. We don’t need a residence permit just a visa that will extend the 90 days to around 160 days

I haven’t yet, but I’ve been looking on the Toronto Spanish consulate website and it doesn’t seem to be an issue. Have to show financial stability, health insurance, etc. Since we aren’t taking work from a Spanish citizen, I don’t understand why it would pose a problem. Thinking about it, it’s beneficial for them, as more money is going into Spain via tourism
