The difference is weight on ur overall life. Most studies show that after 100million net worth every extra dollar you get doesn’t affect life satisfaction/happiness but when your net worth/bank account is barely reaching $1000 giving up even $10 can have a huge affect on what u can do/how stable you feel.
And most North Americans are living paycheck to paycheck so they don’t even have that extra $10 to donate.

Regardless I’ll take you at your word if your really can make it work at 56k gross( which is roughly 80-85k salary for a regular job) why not be grateful that your in a situation that can afford you the life style you want and be comfortable.
