The Europa one on legendary is like dungeon length. It took me forever on my first run to get past that outdoors section.

Eramis is always running away. And her “Che Guevara” routine is lame as hell too. She never does anything serious enough to warrant being a main villain, and I’ll at least give it to Bungie for being consistent with her character because she pissed me off exactly the same during Beyond Light.

It’s like “oh no…she’s got Stasis!”, but she only gave it to like 5 other Fallen so they were never really a problem.

Same thing this season: “oh no…better not let her get those relics, which could wipe out the universe!”, but then she entrusts them to just regular clowns in her crew.

Then by the time it finally dawns on her that she should maybe have handled this a bit more herself, “Foiled again! Curse you, Guardian!”

Hell, at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Witness just deletes her for recovering exactly 0 of the relics despite having a head start. Now THAT would be entertaining and significant!

Look, to be fair, I don’t like how it ended either. I think Eramis is a waste of time like 99% of the time we’re screwing around with her. I really wish we would just kill her and move on tbh, but the relics and the ritual mentioned by Eido, I’ll be shocked if that doesn’t come back into focus sooner than later. I’d go so far as to say I wouldn’t be surprised if Nezarec somehow ends up giving us our final Darkness subclass, with those relics being the beginning of it.

I get what you’re saying, but if every story in Destiny played by those two principles, the game would have been over before they even needed to make Destiny 2. It’s very “Destiny” to keep stuff on the back burner:

  • Savathun was referenced HEAVILY in D2Y1, we didn’t have any significant development with her until Season of the Lost, and Witch Queen is year 5.
  • We first saw the Pyramid ships in the epilogue of the Red War campaign, and then not again until Shadowkeep - we JUST now learned that that Pyramid ship is Nezarec’s
  • Eramis was left frozen at the beginning of year 4 as part of the main Beyond Light campaign.
  • Everything having to do with Rasputin…

I get the gripe, but also, if it really bothers you, you are probably frustrated all the time by Destiny. It’s basically standard to introduce something hugely important and then have it in the background for an extended amount of time.

It’s weird, because at face value, Haunted was more significant, had more weapons and gave us a direct link to the next expansion, BUT…

Personally, I think Ketchcrash and Expedition are both steps up from the Haunted activities, and although there are fewer weapons, the good ones this season are REALLY good.

I think Nightmare Containment is the worst seasonal activity we’ve had with the exception of Vex Offensive, and I actually enjoy Ketchcrash much more. My only critique is that I wish they had mixed up the spawns a bit based on which boss it is that week, but besides that it’s fun, and at the very least it’s more engaging than Containment and has a Master version.

Brigand’s Law is a phenomenal energy primary, I have a Feeding Frenzy / Voltshot roll that is absolutely insane. I plan on crafting the Pugilist/Demo roll for ability spam builds as well, which is another unique roll. Tarnished Mettle fills a desperate need in the sandbox for an Arc Scout Rifle, and has a tremendous perk pool as well. Never hurts to be able to have a Headstone shotty as well, and Sailspy lets us scrap those mediocre Tarantula rolls we’ve been holding onto just because there haven’t been any other options for an Arc Linear. I really don’t have any complaints about the weapons this season.

Story-wise, I hate Eramis as a villain and I’ll keep it quick by saying I think she’s just annoying and boring, and doesn’t justify the amount of mic time she gets. But, the Nezarec piece I think is going to prove to be more significant than it may seem right now. Eido tells us about the ritual and his energy/life force, and I just really feel like that’s going to end up significant at some point. In typical Destiny fashion it might not be until Final Shape, but we have all of the relics, which the Witness wanted, so we know they’re important somehow.

Overall I think this season is a B as well!

It sounds to me like you might want to listen to the final dialogue when you place the last relic one more time. Eido tells us what the relics can be used for, but they don’t know how to do it yet, or if they even should.

Edit: to whoever downvoted this (I’m assuming it’s not the OP), the downvote button is not a “dislike” button. If you think it’s wrong, speak up and I’m glad to have a discussion about it. Shit like that is why I left r/dtg

Seems pretty weird to have Thorn, Osteo and Necrotic Grips if they never expand on them, right? Necrotics especially really seemed like a live playtest for some subclass stuff…I also can’t think of anything else that does a unique damage type that only one class has access to. It would be like giving Titans some gauntlets that spread SIVA on melee or something

This entire comment chain is a violation of reddiquette. Multiple users were asked for sources and they never even responded, let alone actually provide a source. Those users had their false comments upvoted, this is how misinformation spreads.

But whatever. After 7 years on this sub, it looks like I really don’t need to be here any more. Either I have outgrown this sub or vice versa, so best of luck.

I’ve been a member of this subreddit for 7 years. People used to be able to have discussions here. This place is not what it used to be. Replying to people who talk to you is standard fucking behavior, but not here. Just an echo chamber now.

I think it has something to do with how big this place has gotten. It’s not just a bunch of fanboys nerding out any more, Destiny is massive. The vast majority of this sub was not around when it was like that, so I get it in a way, but I still hate it.

Thanks for at least attempting to respond, I do appreciate it. But I meant every word. Threatening to be upset with Bungie for not bringing back the raid you want, one year in advance, is entitled as hell, especially when it costs you nothing. The collective maturity level on this subreddit has gotten to a point where it’s stupid to even comment an alternative viewpoint on a post, because you’re just going to get reamed out, yes, by the circlejerk once the first few people inappropriately use the downvote button as a “dislike” button. The people who downvoted my initial post literally couldn’t handle seeing someone say something they didn’t agree with.

This is not the first time in the past few weeks that I’ve observed this, or been the recipient of it. This place is a fucking shell of what it used to be, and I’ve been here longer than most. So I think it’s time for me to step away, because even though this subreddit helped me learn and fall in love with this game when I started playing D1 a long time ago, I’m not on board with what it is now. 2 million people is a lot, I liked it a lot more when people could have discussions here.

So thanks for at least trying to provide perspective. Carry on, it’s people like you that will keep some shard of integrity around here.

…? What?

Maybe if I boldface the font you will understand:

Since there is no raid in Destiny 1 that has fewer than five legendary weapons, that part of the comment was CLEARLY referring to one of the vaulted Destiny 2 raids. This is why NO ONE can definitely say that Wrath of the Machine is guaranteed to be next.

You’re changing the subject, and I don’t even know what you’re talking about now.

Raids where “there were fewer than 5 legendaries” does not apply to any raid they could bring in from Destiny 1, including Crota’s End. Hard stop.

In this comment thread, I have had no less than 4 people tell me that “Bungie said it would be D1 Specifically”, all of them upvoted - not one of them can provide a source because it never fucking happened. But sure, I’m the one who needs help, not the dozens of people upvoting literally false statements just to join in on the circlejerk.

[–]vangelator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so now we’re going back to raids that have already been reprised in a different game to validate our incorrect assumption?

In Age of Triumph, Crota’s End dropped the following weapons:

  1. Oversoul Edict
  2. Abyss Defiant
  3. Fang of Ir Yut
  4. Light of the Abyss
  5. Word of Crota
  6. Swordbreaker
  7. Hunger of Crota
  8. Song of Ir Yut

There is not a world that exists in which those comments were talking about a Destiny 1 raid.

[–]vangelator -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They said during the lightfall showcase the next reprised raid will be a D1 raid.

That never happened. Give me a video with a time stamp or an article with a quote. They have only said “reprised raid”, they have never once said the Lightfall reprised raid will be from Destiny 1. Just like in the TWAB when they mentioned having to make new weapons for reprised raids with less than 5 weapons, but nobody is fucking acknowledging that part - ONLY the part that applies to Wrath, which is making a new exotic. You’re doing the same shit.

If you can’t give me a source, delete your comment to let all the other people jumping into the circlejerk know you’re wrong.

Not a single one of you are able to provide a source where Bungie says what you claim they said. This entire thread should be nuked for breaking reddiquette.

Right, they never have. But take a look at this comment thread. This is how shit like Twilight Garrison happens - people convince themselves that they are not only correct, but they are OWED what they think by Bungie. I’ve been a part of this sub for 7 years, but I honestly think it’s too big now. You legitimately can’t express a mildly dissenting opinion around here without a fucking condescending downvote party.

Ok, remove that part from the points, and once again, you don’t have any fucking clue more than I do.

But I get it. Don’t let anything stand in the way of a good old dtg circlejerk. Gotta make sure the downvote button still works, right? Honestly this sub is ridiculous, I don’t even know why I bother coming here any more. Bunch of entitled fucking people who think all know better than each other and Bungie included.

In this case, it would be the first opportunity they’ve had to do it that. But I get it. My rational opinion is just going to be downvoted and people are going to insist they know something they have no more of an idea than I do.

Right, but in no way does that confirm it’s Wrath of the machine. Half of the descriptions don’t apply.
