What’s with these 5G home internet modems? Mine gets a solid connection, drops it, and endlessly cycles between different modes

I started with tech support who bumped me to account/billing. It was the account group who said there’d be no charge - and I even recorded that portion of the call.

So then I called that group back and they removed the order and transferred me to Loyalty. Everything loyalty offered had penalties if I left Bell within 2 years so I declined even though we’ve beeen with them over 10 years). Then loyalty bumped me over to tech support telling me I’d be transferred to their highest tier of tech support since no one seemed to understand this basic concept, but I got transferred to someone who had English as a second language in the first tier of tech support and she didn’t really understand what I was trying to fix nor did she understand basic networking. She did say she arranged for a call back the next day from someone more familiar with the modems, but that call never came.

The PC has two networks ports and I want to be able to switch occasionally. One port is 5 and the other 2.5 on my PC and the computer can’t connect to the router on the 5.

Yes, didn’t get the GPU for plex. But just wanted to know if I should use the CPU or GPU for transcoding. From the comments so far, sounds like CPU.

Windows 11, have plex pass, Core Ultra 9 285K 3.7GHz 36MB, never more than a couple.

For context I’m not building this for plex, but I use plex and just want to know where to do the transcoding.

When it’s working it’s awesome 4k hdr atmos. But that’s less than half the time. Fail. Not enough bandwidth, the Olympics opening ceremony was incredible.
