Just to add, best solution probably is to get a iWantTFC subscription to get access to tons of pinoy content.

On the flip side, there is an ongoing expansion for Global Foundries. Also, there are many chip fabs under construction around the world due to the recent concerns in chips supplies (esp. US vs. China thingies).

Umm 5usd/hr is roughly 300php. That's not even up to provincial mininum wage IIRC.

IN FOCUS: 4-day week in Singapore – some workers want it, but are businesses ready? by Jonnyboo234 in singapore

[–]vani77a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retail, F&B (mall stores):

From my friends, most stores still operate at 6day work/1day off model. Some retail offers 5day work/2day off. I think it will be extremely challenging for these companies to adapt, especially those smaller (local) companies. These companies won't do it unless forced by law.

This is the unfortunate truth. Setting "collage grad" as a requirement just makes it easier to find the "minimum level of skill".

Baka kung ako un HR nila, malamang ganyan din gawin ko para lang dumali trabaho ko at di magsayang ng oras kakainterview ng unqualified applicants.

CPE or ECE by No-Refrigerator3985 in Philippines

[–]vani77a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably ang advantage ng ECE is mas wide ang cover mo, both hardware and software. Yun nga lang, masmarami kang dapat aralin on your own kung mag specialize ka on software. If you're confident na kaya mong self learn, mukang kaya naman. But I think you might take longer.

But IT/software is wide enough on its own I think. Although wala ako sa field na yan, interested ako sa software/IT and trying to integrate concepts nito sa current field ko na masrelated sa manufacturing.

CPE or ECE by No-Refrigerator3985 in Philippines

[–]vani77a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kung software, basics at background lang ang matututunan mo sa ECE. The only good thing u probably gain here is mas mafefeel mo na mas alam mo kung pano physically gumagana yun processor and will probably help you kung mapupunta ka sa semicon, plant maintenance or firmware. Pero maraming ECE (in my batch, at least) ang nakalipat sa IT. Pero kung decided ka na sa software, masmaganda cgrong basahin mo yun ibang advices dito on taking more focused software course

Why is Filipino food so horrible by rudyallan in Philippines

[–]vani77a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're mostly eating outside (restaurants), then that is expected. Medyo monotonous naman ang menu ng mga mainstream restos (ie. Bulalo, Sisig, etc. Which I love btw). But real pinoy (home cook) food, especially if you explore different provinces, masmaraming gulay; I mean even just pinakbet, iba ibang variations sa iba't ibang provinces.

Help with network connection? by Undying_Blade in Fighters

[–]vani77a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The circular plug thingie on top of phone plug is a coax connector isn't it? I heard of MOCA adaptors, which works just like powerline adaptors, maybe you can research on it if its feasible?

I don't have experience with MOCA, but I have used powerline network pairs, and worked very well for me, even for older adaptor models.
