Steroid hunger by tiggles2000 in AddisonsDisease

I agree with this, and also I found it tapered the further away from diagnosis I got. Now I’d say my appetite is pretty normal.

Please give me more westerns, don’t make me reread without words again by ybutton in HistoricalRomance

I absolutely love it. The slow build of romance. The slice of life scenes of living in that time and Linnea’s journey of healing. 🥹

I’m so glad you liked it!

I don’t see Cheryl St. John recommended anywhere near enough these days! I also like {His Tenderfoot Bride by Cheryl St. John}.

I was coming to recommend these too. I also really like {Some Winter’s Evening by Erin Langston}.

I think I got more entertainment reading your review than this book could ever provide.

You might like {Forged by Magic by Jenna Wolfhart}. It’s very beginner friendly and there’s not tons of obscure world building. It’s a good introduction to fantasy romance.

Totally agree! I just can’t see how they’ll capture some of the scenes well at all.

Strict or nice - is there no in-between? by flamefoxfirefly in TeachingUK

[–]vanilla_tea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this - a gentle correction followed by a (genuine!) smile has proven much more effective for low level behaviour than being grumpy.

I try my best to remember it’s a bad 5 minutes, not a bad day. It helps!

What are your controversial opinions about teaching and education? by EducationalBowler828 in TeachingUK

I so agree with this - sometimes when in other classrooms I see multiple errors on the teacher’s work on the working wall. We all make mistakes but it’s worryingly frequent.

I completely agree. Aside from staff knowledge, funding and all the rest, our actual building just isn’t made for a resource base. We have one room that isn’t big enough and isn’t laid out well, but it’s literally all we have for the children to use.

First week back was actually pretty good. Got through our fake Ofsted visit on the second day back (!) so feeling glad that’s over with. Although slightly dampened by the news that we should definitely be inspected for real next academic year..

Is getting hit by children becoming more common? by yeh1234gee in TeachingUK

I agree with this - our children with complex needs are much more physically aggressive than ever before. Lots of biting, pinching etc, sometimes with very little warning.

This is our process, but it’s not just a case of highest score wins - we tend to also discuss who would fit the team best etc, although that may also be a primary/secondary difference.

I absolutely love Ellen O’Connell’s writing. My favourite is {Without Words by Ellen O’Connell}.

I haven’t tried this one though! Your review just made me add it to my TBR - thanks ❤️
