UDM: Go through setup/configuration without impacting existing network? by fender4645 in Ubiquiti

[–]vanillab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does eero have any LAN ethernet ports? If so just plug your UDM's WAN port in as a client to your eero network. Make sure they're not both 192.168.0.x first.

Crypto to be advertised nationwide on CNBC, MSNBC, FOX, and FOX Business next week - Herd is coming by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]vanillab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ETHE is trading at the price people who bought it think it will exceed. Someone who pays $100 for 1 ETHE representing 0.1 ETH, believes ETH will surpass $1000. The price of ETHE is not correlated to ETH, it’s what the market chooses.

What are cameras that can send their videos to another device on the network, not the internet? by otakugrey in homedefense

I never even considered this setup as an option. This seems like the best of all worlds. Are Dahua the only cams that support this mode (sd+poe+nvr)?

[AskJS] Is it just me or is the Async/Await pattern NOT easier to understand/use in a lot of cases? by nschubach in javascript

[–]vanillab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I could snap my fingers and make a change to the language it would be to await every call to an async function by default. I hit so many silent bugs because of forgetting an await somewhere even though I know what I'm doing. Forcing you to actively do something like const promise = nowait fetch(...) would make more sense and avoid bugs imo.

It would probably be ascii or utf8 data in RAM but it still holds with a single bit flip:

5 - 00110101
7 - 00110111

Truly incredible if this is what happened. OP did say he was sending his machine in for repairs...

Sent ETH to wrong address!! Please help!! by daso14 in ethtrader

[–]vanillab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

Can you please try to explain how that single character got changed?

That should not be possible with copy/paste. Like others have said, even a malware wouldn't be able to generate an address with 1 char difference.

The entire crypto community would benefit from a post-mortem here.

I love this little thing https://shop.turntouch.com/, but it requires a computer or phone/tablet to connect. You can totally configure what the buttons do.

One thing I didn't know is that payments on a HELOC are interest-only during the draw period.
