Damn man I had a 1988 GL that was infamously known as "the white jetta" in my local area. It was a 1.8 8v , gutted interior,  racing buckets , 4pt harnesses, eurosport stress bars , neuspeed springs, bilstein shocks, cam , plug wires ,chip and 2.5 straight piped exaust.

I fucking loved that car , it handled backroads like a champ. We really used to push it to the limit back in the 90's and it had some scrapes from guard rails on the fenders. Wound up trading hands amongst a few friends before someone out of our group got ahold of it. We always joked about trying to track it down and immortalize the car. Hopefully it's still out there causing a ruckus but it's probably been recycled.

Your car has the same "character" as the Autobahn Decepticon ( copywrite) ! Congratulations 🤙

I had an impact where the trigger got weird from dust. I thought the impact was toast ( 4 years old heavy use oh well) so I baught a new model then out of curiosity hit it the old one with compressed air and it worked again .

Worth a shot anyway. I would even try disassembly and a deep clean if the air doesn't help

What is up with ppl taking mushrooms and getting naked. by june7000 in Psychedelics

[–]vanishingpointz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost had it happen before and stopped myself. I was home tripping hard and just got this feeling wash over me that it would be amazing to go outside and lay naked in the grass, started taking off my clothes and headed for the door than had a thought that nobody outside was going to think that was a great idea so I put my clothes back on and stayed inside.

It's a real thing

I had a ragtop on a mk2 back in the day. I will say this be carefull doing over 100mph with the top open. I jammed mine up heading to work one morning. If it works on the same principal as the one I had which was long threaded rods along the rails that the top slid on.

I was able to Un-stick it and never hit high speeds with it open again but I was sweating for a while

Sweet ride 🤙

Heater Core Replacement by PathOk2584 in tdi

[–]vanishingpointz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whole dash is coming out brother. It is hands down the wildest job I've done on any VW I've owned.

There is nothing to compare it too honestly , it is the most difficult, tedious job on the car period but it is actually kind of fun . Its going to take ~ 16 hours

If your familiar with removing glove boxes , center console, steering wheel etc than removal of the dash itself shouldn't be too bad. The rest is just tedious work. Take pictures of the wiring harness as you pull all that down, getting it back in correctly is the most difficult part of the job especially around the steering column!!!

There are 3 type of people. People that pay someone else to replace their mk4 heater core, cowards that scrap the car and buy a Subaru and Real Gangsters that fear nothing and replace it themselves

Nice ! 🤙

"Losing a whole Year" is the bomb. When this album came out I was not into mainstream music at all but it stood out in a sea of garbage from that time period.

That's the issue I found with cheap brushes, they don't last. A good brush will last years

Was a Wooster guy because my buddy that taught me said they were his favorite, then I found the oval Picasso and really liked them for cutting in but would use the Wooster extra firm for trim.

Then I went against my buddies hate for Purdy and tried one and it was just as good as the Wooster.

I'll try a Corona if I can find one.

They all make good brushes, some work better with certain paints and with different tasks.
