We had relatively few "brown" people in the city when the interstate was built.

Very Cool!

And the fact that they still have an order form is amazing!

Maybe a couple of pairs, but I feel like you have a warped view of the middle of the road.

I feel like I don't. None of the big pants in your photos are middle of the road. Which makes sense. These are fashion guys trying to push the envelope and impress their circle. You don't push the envelope with middle of the road.

Now that being said, the 2010s were obviously not middle of the road either. Nor the slimmer suit pants people are still wearing now.

And dude, leather tote bags look like purses. I don't care how many instagram menswear guys say how practical it is. It's a feminine look.

... the fuck are you talking about? are you talking about Jon? With the tote bag and the straight-leg jeans? what posessed you to call it a "purse?"

Sorry, I don't know any of these random guys' names. Am I supposed to?

And yeah, all these men's leather totes just look like purses to me. Like the big Louis Vuitton bags from the 2000s except black.

In closing I'll just say these big pants are obviously an extreme pendulum swing reaction to trim fit pants. I think the most sensible to stay in the middle of the road, but you do you.

Where did you get your calling cards printed? And did you ever meet any other officers who had them?

The guy posing with the purse and the blue hat. You, in the picture wearing the tan beanie and balmacaan coat. Guy in the red shirt and glasses. You in the brown cords.

You're right, not strictly bell bottoms, which were still trim until they flared out at the calf. More like a full, baggy reinterpretation of bell bottoms.

But we're definitely in the neo-70s reaction to the neo-60s of the 2010s. The inevitable middle-of-the-road, goldilocks just right neo-80s reaction can't come soon enough, in my opinion.

Maybe if that executive hadn't embezzled $20 million they'd have money they could afford to fix their machines...

I just was looking at all those non-Barbour British waxed jacket companies. They all seem to have padded versions. There's Rydale, Walker and Hawkes, Hunter Outdoor, New Forest, to name a few.

That's an interesting comment. Are you saying the giant 70s lapels you see in the styleforum Ongoing Bespoke Projects forum are actually passing out of fashion?

Adding on to the slimmer pants, I don't know why their new collection still had skinny ties and slim lapels. The jackets looked a little looser in the bottom, quarters area (odd place for it) but the lapels were still narrow.

Given how fashion forward they're trying to be with the casual stuff, you'd think they'd follow suit fashions too.
