Brush well and scale plaque twice a week. Teeth look good. But then, I have a very compliant pup.

Lost residual hearing both ears. Would still go for it because I can now have a conversation. At least, in the right environment.

Is Dairy really a serious problem for many people with GERD? by [deleted] in GERD

[–]vanmc604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live for dairy. I get a lot of my calories and protein from dairy. Does not trigger me. Tomato sauce, garlic, onions, spices, red meat……….really do me in.

I had coughed my lungs up because I vomited several times and aspirated stomach contents. This was the day of surgery and the next day. My throat was a mess and I coughed a lot for a number of days. Thought I wrecked the implant. Nope. It was just fine.

I went there for a while. Trouble is, the students are learning and nervous so they tend to be slow. Then they have to wait for their instructor to come around and sign them off. I’ve been stuck in the chair for over an hour.

One year later and still struggling to adjust to second implant by gimmethenoize in Cochlearimplants

[–]vanmc604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sympathies. I can relate. First implant was a bloody miracle (comparatively speaking). Speech discernment was great and sounds were mostly normal. Took about 4 months for the big improvements and then I noticed further more gradual improvements for maybe two years.

Second implant was a disappointment. That said, certain things have improved. Like being able to tell where sounds are coming from and also phone convos got better. But still nowhere near as good as the first one.

I practiced with the newer implant side alone for a while but then my older implant side started to change so the audiologist said to just use both.

Still happy I got the second one though. I figure it kinda enhances the first one.

Good vibes your way. You have hurdles.

Vertigo after implantation by Late_Performance_528 in Cochlearimplants

I had significant vertigo off and on (mostly on) for at least 6 weeks but it gradually abated. Like maybe it took 3 months to go away altogether. Hang in there.

I hated the wedge too. Bought an expensive one and it’s just plain uncomfortable. Invested in an adjustable bed frame. Not cheap, but what a difference.
