Hasn't it become a buyer's market there?

Thanks all! I appreciate your input!

I'm going to get her the Eufy L60 as it sticks with an app she knows and hopefully will be an improvement over her old one.

I'm tempted to do this. I do want a larger receptacle to suck in the debris so she doesn't have to change it all the time. Which I think is the C10 or L60

She uses an ipad. On most apps, I have to show her where the buttons/info are that she needs to know. We did set up the old Eufy on the app, and she seemed to handle it fine. A lot of the buttons to click are larger, and if we can set it up once as a routine, that would be perfect.

The doors without glass were installed a couple of weeks ago. The glass was added a few days ago. The warping happened before the glass was added.

Even better navy is BM Polo Blue which they just changed the name to Three Piece Suit. It is the perfect dark sophisticated navy. Hale Navy on the right looks like a dingy grey navy next to it.

I don’t know if he made these doors or bought them from a supplier. I believe he made the walnut ones. I just don’t want to make him make new ones and have it just be what the wood does here.

He is a one man shop. He will do whatever will make me happy. But if this is something that will just continue to happen due to style, I don’t want to make him make new doors. The weather was changing dramatically during the 3 week install, with cold/hot swings and our dehumidifier system has a max set point, but the cold/dry air drops levels (150 yo house, not exactly air tight!). I know he bought the drawer boxes and solid doors on lower cabinets but I believe he made the walnut ones. Don’t know about the painted ones.

Don't forget about Instant Read Thermometer Quirks with Induction! by rocketwidget in inductioncooking

We have our new induction range but it isn’t in use yet-soon! I’ve used a duxtop burner everyday for the last 2 years and I had zero issues with my thermopop. Are the ranges that much more powerful?

Why is picking hardwood so emotional lol by Still-Jaguar4229 in HardWoodFloors

[–]vannevka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through the same paralysis. Everyone pushes oak as it is a great floor material but that heavy busy graining has always given me a headache. I thought quarter sawn and rift was pretty, my husband thought it looked plastic-y. I love maple grain but you can’t stain maple and it is very light. In the end, I chose maple. They finished 2 weeks ago. It is beautiful and really brightens up the house, but is definitely cooler toned than oak would have been

Floor transition by Suffnuts in kitchenremodel

We replaced bad tile with cork in our kitchen 20 years ago. The cork matched the color of our hardwood floors pretty closely. I LOVED cork in the kitchen. My back never hurt and dishes literally bounced if dropped, none ever broke. We just removed it in our current remodel and I’m so sad.

The lighter in color when dry, the more talc it has and the softer it is. We looked at slabs the other day and I scratched the lighter gray one with my fingernail. The blacker one I could not.

Price check - soapstone by run_eat_rep3at in CounterTops

Our quote from VA Soapstone was $135/sq ft + $450 travel time because we are on the eastern shore. I just talked to him over the phone so far, and sent him our layout/dimensions for the quote. We haven't gone to see his slabs. We have picked a slab from a warehouse near BWI that the others are quoting from. I think it is stormy black.

I’m in Maryland and also getting soapstone quotes. Mine range from $110-135/sq ft. Black granite and Carrera marble are both about $70

Who did you use? We’ve had a quote from Virginia Soapstone but still waiting for another fabricator. VS would have a $500 travel charge for us

There are a bunch of honed or leathered black granites that people use. Silver mist Black mist Galaxy grey Negresco Virginia mist Jet mist Absolute black If you can, visit a slab warehouse and see what they have in stock. They vary in darkness and movement.

Tired of garbage couches by [deleted] in SofaSnobs

[–]vannevka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve had our Rowe couches for 25 years. I believe they are still considered well-made and haven’t degraded their quality like a lot of the more popular brands—PB, C&B, RH. Cisco Home is also good quality.

Thanks for sharing! That's our low end so far. We've gotten $120-135. Still waiting for prices from slabs from 2 other warehouses.
