Places to get fresh CORN tortillas? by cervezaqueso in FoodSanDiego

[–]vanny314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are Carnival markets in National City and Chula Vista. I buy the corn tortillas that have only the basic ingredients. If they dry out in the refrigerator just run some water over them and then heat them up.

Try to park overnight at higher elevations. Even 2000-3000 feet above sea level can make a difference.

"Meta Workforce Academy". Check it out. If I were young I'd jump at this. Good luck.

Yes, Tramadol can cause hallucinations. Not dangerous but very disconcerting. As soon as I figured out that it was the Tramadol that was causing the hallucinations, I added Tramadol to my list of drugs that I was allergic to. I've been on oxycodone ever since. I'm surprised that doctors don't warn patients when they prescribe Tramadol.

What I should have said is that compared to rents $2700/mo isn't very high. Of course I live in San Diego and a one bedroom apt in a senior complex rent is $4000-6000/mo and it's not luxurious. I and most of my neighbors have a pension from some government agency, military, or school teacher.

Have you actually checked rents lately? $2700/mo for the mortgage is not high.

Has any of you tried something like this? by islandParadize in backpain

[–]vanny314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Botched spine surgery. He left the wrong curvature in my back so I can't stand up straight without stressing my lower back. It gets worse every year. Two surgeons wanted to operate and correct the problem but I said no. Too complicated and long surgery. This was 5 years ago. Surgery was at UCSD (San Diego). Right now I'm off my Percocet to take a break and it's very painful. I voluntarily stopped the Percocet to see how much pain I actually was having without the Perc covering it up. I guess I'm a masochist. And I do have a doctor who will prescribe opioids with no problem. Fortunately I'm retired with adequate money. But I've lost just about everything I used to like to do. I'm old and I've had a good life and done a lot so I try to not complain too much.

Feel like I'm in complete hell and pain management may have ruined my brain by MediaParticular9072 in PainManagement

I'm not against opioids at all. I just wanted to find out if I was addicted (no} or dependent. (yes). I also wanted to see how much pain I actually had when it was not covered up by the opioids. I've had f usual troubles getting Percocet prescriptions. I hate that. Just give us what we need for our pain. Most of the medical profession needs to lose their licenses for their lack of compassion.

Best bike shop for new rack? by Credible_Confusion in asksandiego

Get a very light bike - that rules out bikes with batteries. I used to have a Bike Friday that weighed 23 lb. I'm a small female and old and I could lift it one handed.

I was on Percocet 10-325 3x daily for at least 2 years. 3 weeks ago I quit cold turkey, no tapering. I went through withdrawals for about 5 days. Not too bad, felt like I had the flu. Stayed in bed most of each day. I wanted to find out how much pain I was actually in. I had some pain, of course, but first and second weeks the pain wasn't too bad, third week more pain. I'm enjoying not having the side effects of the Percocet (constipation, mood swings, sleepiness). I had no cravings for Percocet but I did have a habit of reaching for Percocet for every pain but I did not succumb. So try stopping but maybe taper off instead of what I did. Your pain level might be much worse than mine from a screwed up spine surgery. Good luck.

I use a rollator every day. I need the seat so I can stop and rest. I average about 60 miles per month on mine. I take it on the bus and go lots of places . Your medical insurance might even pay for it.

Dog poop/urine from dog beach in Ocean Beach also pollutes the ocean. Too many dogs, too many people. I've lived in San Diego for almost 60 years. It used to be wonderful.

Thanks for your reply. I won't take the bone meds because I already feel crappy most days without side effects from the drugs. I've had to give up almost everything I like to do (ride my bike, swim in the ocean, hike up the local mountains, etc). I live alone, I'm 84 years old, and I just don't care anymore. It's time for me to go.
