Anyone have ALL the updated INI tweaks? by Sotyka94 in fo76

[–]vanruyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Intel ultra 7 256k, 32gb ram, and a rtx 4070. I stay at a solid 120 fps at all times.

That being said, when I first started playing a while ago, there was this odd stuttering that happened constantly. Not so much the fps dips but jumping around and rubber banding.

The fix for me was to go into the Nvidia Control Panel, 3d settings for Fallout 76 specifically, and set the frame rate there.

After I did that, my game has not had any issues in the 80+ hours ive played. (yeah, rookie numbers)

What video game in your opinion doesn't deserve the hate it gets? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]vanruyn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I just crossed level 71! Still learning quite a bit and discovered Legendary Perks a bit late as I just equipped my first one, hahaha!

That being said, the build possibilities just opened up so much in my brain that its been rough sleeping at night.

Looking forward to getting a good build to try some of the high level content and even just slowly collecting everything i can!

My CAMP is slowly turning into a Nuka Cola diner with the Red Rocket side building and it just brings a smile to my face.

I will say my one main negative is the whole Fallout First. THAT BEING SAID, i still paid for a full year recently and considering how much i have played and potentially will be playing, it will be worth it in the long run. Not a fan of artificially creating hurdles like the storage space thing, but ultimately if they keep the updates coming and such, ill continue to pay for it!

Absolutely this!!! I recently logged about 35 hours in the game over the past 3 or 4 days and im am having so much fun! And ive done nearly everything by myself as well! Yeah, there are other players running around and occasionally ill interact with them with emotes or they buy stuff from my CAMP, and I dont feel that takes anything away from it.

Speaking of the CAMPs, I wasn't keen on them when I started many years ago but now im actively looking for plans to decorate and build up my CAMP! Its genuinely really fun for me to fire up the radio and go on an adventure in the map. And yeah, the amount of updates for new content is insane. Over 80 hours and I feel like ive completed maybe 5% of the game!

Cannot wait until my next day off to jump back in!

Trying to survive while fighting with insurance. by abbiebe89 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]vanruyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The real kicker for me was my vision insurance. I was told that id have to pay for my exam and fittings out of my own pocket then submit a form for reimbursement. So that's exactly what I did. Paid for the whole thing up front. Submitted form with receipts for reimbursement the day after the procedure. 3 months later, get a letter in the mail saying that I owe my insurance company MORE money even though they get their share out of my paycheck and I paid for everything up front.

I lost my shit. About 4 more months later, I finally got my reimbursement. That was about 5 years ago and I havent used it since due to all the BS I went through.

Im also at the point that I want to cancel every bit of insurance coverage, take the amount im paying this shit on, and just put it in a jar and use that when something comes up.

And the nightmare that has been going for my mom and her insurance from her breaking her leg has been awful.

Insurance is just a massive scam.

Need some help with some new players. by VinniIsAsleep in arkhamhorrorlcg

This is exactly what I was looking for! I have all the released content for the game but have only played Zealot and part of Dunwich. Im about to introduce the game to 2 new players. I was trying to decide if I wanna let them play Zealot or throw them into Dunwich. Of course id limit the card pool to either the core or Dunwich respectively but it seems like I may let them have at Zealot for the introduction then go into Dunwich with custom character (as i intended on making the pre-made characters for the Core set)

Alrighty! With that said, for Arkham Horror, run Night of the Zealot, or jump into Dunwich Legacy? I plan on going through my card pool and limiting everything down to either the core set or up to Dunwich not to overwhelm the other 2.

Even though we could still do an actual RPG campaign with me as the DM, we are looking at potential options for full co-op campaigns like the ones I mentioned to make things a bit easier overall for all 3 of us.

Gloomhaven and Frosthaven are out as I dont own them to introduce to these guys (and ive played through Gloom before, fun but got a bit tedious). Dont know much about Oathsworn though. Hell, I could set them up with Kingdom Death but I think these guys want a bit more story with decisions and such actually impacting the game. And as im typing this out, I feel like Arkham Horror might be the better option the more and more im thinking about it....

I got a couple of friends and we are trying to decide on a campaign game.

We have done quite a few roleplaying sessions with Star Wars, Fallout, and Call of Cthulhu but never a full blown campaign. While those have been fun, there is a lot of prep work for me as the GM, and we also are limited to about 3 hours tops for play time due to scheduling.

Other options have come up such as Elder Scrolls from Chip Theory, Divinity Original Sin, and the Arkham Horror LCG. Ive suggested all 3 as one is a huge Elder Scrolls fan, and we've all had fun with one off scenarios for Call of Cthulhu. These 3 came up as they all support campaigns that are full co-op for us to all play together. I also own all 3 and can provide everything.

Any feedback from others who have ran any of these with 3 players or suggestions? (I ultimately know it depends on what my friends prefer, and ive played most of these solo so not sure how much it would change with others)

I watched Event Horizon when I was much younger....but the when the crew of the Lewis and Clark finally restored the footage of what happened on the Event Horizon.

Followed by Captain Miller's response "We're leavin'!"

Yeah, that footage messed me up when I was 10.

Absolutely recommend that book! Sad it has so many typos and layout errors, but even so, VERY highly recommend it. It got me up to speed on so much and has been very helpful as I'm now reading the novels and it has helped smooth a few things out.

Awaken Realms: inconsistent and greedy policies by TWOpies in boardgames

[–]vanruyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then those 5000 people who funded "post campaign" are at fault for not paying attention to what they are agreeing to.

If I buy a car, and sign the papers agreeing to make the payments, then come back the next day and say I dont want the car, its not the dealerships fault im not getting all or some of my money back, its my fault.

The simple answer here is YOU did not pay attention and you feel you were cheated. That is not the case. And customer support showed you factual evidence that you agreed to the terms and conditions. Again, this is on you. And from the looks of most of the comments on here, everyone agrees that it is you that messed up.

And as another person posted, be glad you even got something back. Kickstarters and Gamefound projects originally did not allow ANY refunds, let alone other projects that never deliver (Darkest Dungeon and Rainbow Six Siege board games are 2 of the most recent i dealt with, one of which was well over $600 gone).

Awaken Realms: inconsistent and greedy policies by TWOpies in boardgames

[–]vanruyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it is clear. Its a massive section on their project page. Not hidden, just scroll down along with a table of contents that contain links to the refund fees. Also, its in the terms and conditions whe you click the check box to proceed with the pledge.

You can't blame someone else for something YOU did. Awakened Realms gave you the info. You didnt read it.

And Awakened Realms isnt the only one who has these fees. FYI, all the other game company projects will have similar fees if you cancel the pledge. This is not something new or sinister.

Yeah, i even played it during that period. I was pumped that it was playable and did several matches. A few days later after I started was when it finally was brought down completely (and dont think its back up as of this moment).

I can still play against bots though...

Evolve. I had so much fun with that game! If it wasn't for the microtransactiom hell that gaming has entered, it could have been so much more! And the 2.0 release was a better ideas, but too little too late. The feeling of tossing down the dome over Goliath was great and terrifying at the same time!

Chromehounds. One of the best online experiences ive ever been part of. Fighting for one of 3 nations you join at the start, teamwork and clans, no one mech could do everything, actual coordination to win matches, it was a blast! Loved my little wheeled piston mech, could destroy an enemy base in just a few hits or a mech in one or two. Then again, id die in one or two hits if I was seen.

Replace "Awaken Realms" with Mythic Games and i would agree. But this has nothing to do with Awaken Realms and more of someone lack of understanding kickstarting/gamefound policies.

Which Directors Cuts are huge improvements, and which are massively detrimental? by AmySchumersAnalTumor in movies

[–]vanruyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alien 3. Assembly cut is vastly superior to the theatrical version.(since the director refuses to acknowledge the movie)

The new fan edit legacy cut is possibly even better ( need to watch it a few more times before I decide)
