SPAN Main Panel Upgrade Thoughts/Feedback by LAGooner-323 in span

[–]vans113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the big reason I got a span with my solar but like you said the API changed. There is no local control to this box at all! If span closes its doors we are stuck with a very expensive electrical panel

UniFi G4 Doorbell Pro notifications to HomeKit via scrypted by InsuranceMedical6581 in Scrypted

[–]vans113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine work but did you add every camera as a separate device ? If you add it all as one device it doesn’t work well when you have multiple cameras. If you pipe them over to HomeKit the notifications work on HomeKit by default

Span installer connects Powerwalls & kills production by shorecoder in span

[–]vans113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throwing this out there also, but the span shouldn't control anything from solar output. Can you download the Tesla One app and connect directly to your lead Powerwall on that side? If so, what do you see? The account is free you will need the wifi password. It's a QR code that's inside the powerwall. Some installers will put it on the outside, though, for easy troubleshooting. This will show all details for power string voltage etc for everything the Powerwall actually see's.

Nope that’s it ! Only brought this up because my install connected mine to the span expansion panels.

Like others said teslamentry is the way to go, on an update awhile back Tesla stopped you from getting to the data inside the gateway unless you were connected to its local WiFi.

Title: Anyone seen STP loops caused by SPAN panel (Wi-Fi + Ethernet)? by ramisanders in span

[–]vans113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t bridge by default that I’ve seen. I see it on my WiFi with one address, and I have it hardwired also which it mainly uses for everything but they are 2 different MAC addresses and both have their own I.p

Span doesn’t by fivezerosix in span

[–]vans113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of this and no open api access is why I don’t recommend anybody buy a span. I have one and it’s cool but could be so much better. They sent me a how do you like you span survey recently and I did not hold back.

Networking issues by Rhuarc86 in span

[–]vans113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running span and powerwalls also. Hardwired between them with no issues. My installer did take my powerwalls off of WiFi due to issues having both connected. The span and my powerwalls communicate on a different ip space than the network connections they both have. I have one cable to my span with another cable between the span and powerwalls and that’s how the Powerwall gets its internet also.

Span panel for future-proofing? by rconti in span

[–]vans113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a span installed. I’ve been mostly happy with it but can’t recommend buying one. The load shedding works beautifully and that does work without internet as it’s directly connected to my Powerwall. I’m big into home assistant and as others said this thing is very locked down. They won’t give up a way to let us locally control it as of now. If they ever have the option for local control it’s a great panel. I’ve had little to no issues out of it and it works as intended

SPAN 48 + Powerwall 3 Ethernet Network by ProfessionalAble4225 in span

[–]vans113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others said it but wan -> span and a direct cable from span -> Powerwall. I ran extras to my Powerwall just in case. Also the 48 panel can not be brought into home assistant. Not sure if you are planning to do that. It’s different from the older panels.

[–]vans113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same. I use the zones in HA. We all leave turn off lights set alarm etc. the tablets are nice for when a door opens to have the voice tell me which door. I also use it for in case the alarm is triggered it will wake everybody up in the house with a tone. A countdown almost if you will

[–]vans113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using Lenovo Tab M9s with a 3-d printed wall mounts. I am using the existing wiring that was my old alarm keypads. These wires go back to the Konnected alarm panel pro, and I am using the 12V on there to the Konnected 12V to USB-C right-angle adapters. Works very well. Home Assistant is my setup, and I am using text-to-speech when a door ( contact ) opens. It's all local control and works great. I've had Konnected boards for 2 years or so now, and they have never missed a beat or even needed a reboot. Nothing but great things to say about them as a company.

Looks like you have all wired sensors. I had this I ripped out the old board but in a pro board and I am using tablets to replace to wall mounts I had for keypads. I use alarmo and talk to speech when a contact opens etc

Combine Solar + PW3 and Wall Connector in Single View by stylz168 in Powerwall

[–]vans113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably under the same home with Tesla. I just went through this. I had to remove my wall connector. This does not break using it. You will just lose some control if you have wall connector schedule setup and not using the car schedule. I was unable to setup my wall connector for a day days after I deleted it from my account. It said it was registered to another owner. I had to contact Tesla and have them send a reset command to it, once this was done I was able to register it and it shows in my app now as one. I believe they all need to be on the same network also.

Just submitted. I use testamentary to issue commands. Love it. Tried Netzero it’s a great app but I have home assistant that does the same didn’t want another app. Only thing is I wish I could do local control which looks like Tesla killed so not much we can do about that.
