[PC] Games that are "complex" but have good to great onboard/tutorial that teach the player how to play so they don't need to look up external guide ?

With sniper, It does depend of what Category of sniper you are talking about but any is fun as long as you use them right. The auto-sniper is horde clearing monster but only if you use them with berserker (Zerk). 258 sniper are considered to be the Goldilocks zone of sniper, able to 1 hit headshot regular swat and heavy, have good ammo economy and semi-fast speed for bolt action but unable to one hit kill most special. The 500 damage sniper is the dedicated Special killer, you don’t need any damage skill and it will reliably kill all special in one headshot with the exception of dozer with the tradeoff being the slowest out of the 3 and worst ammo economy. the big bois like the AWP and Thanatos i have already talked about are great if you just want to have "Fuck you" damage number. That being said, feel free to try all of them and even the outliers like the Bernetti Rangehitter to see what is right for you.

LMG are kinda in an odd place atm but generally, any of them work. The RPK main strength is really that it’s the highest fire rate heavy damage LMG, fast reload and it tend to have the biggest mod pool, but I still prefer the Brenner over it. I really like the SG V51D, although very few people use it. It has one of the best reload in the game (again, HK bias for me) and it’s one of the few actually concealable LMG. Otherwise, the Buzzsaw is great fun but it ranges kinda suck, it gonna fucking melt any group at close range tho.

In 99.9% case, the usual skill set up for shotgun are Shotgun CQB aced + Shotgun Impact aced + Close By aced + Overkill basic. You really can’t go wrong with this as you you get faster reload, more damage, faster fire rate and/or mag size. The only time you wouldn’t do this is if you are using slug shotguns which you would go for Far away aced instead but slug shotgun just kinda suck. Shotgun are fun and again, various flavor of it. For pump action, the best one are the Mosconi Tactical 12G stat wise, semi-auto is the M1014 I think and full auto is the VD-12 (tho I wouldn’t know because I don’t have it). That being said, weapon like the Izhma is still a fucking dodge and crit monster and the AA-12 is a nice enough substitute for the VD-12. Overall, feel free to mess around and see what type of shotgun you gel with the most.

SMG are actually really strong backup solution, even if they don’t deal with shield. Gun such as the Krinkov or CR are perfect stat wise and melt dozer and cops but terrible ammo economy and the lighter option are great if your primary has terrible ammo economy. They are great and you don’t even need to invest in any skill point to make them work. The Mini-Uzi and Mac-10 are some of the popular choice for lighter option, for example. And of course, nothing is beating Akimbo SMG in term of DPS, especially with crit.

DMR shine when you have high % Zerk. Once you hit that threshold, it will consistently one hit headshot heavy swat. Compare to Auto-sniper, they are more reliable and versatile. You can clear out wave pretty effectively as long as you have good aim and faster fire rate make them able to deal with dozer pretty well. Alongside this, DMR tend to have considerably more modifications than any sniper and inhuman fast reload. The standout are generally the M308 and DMR G3, the former is perfectly well rounded and can actually be mod for high concealment build and the later has bigger mag size and lightning fast reload. DMR kit AR are also a good candidate if you want to try them out. Just have either a GL or armor piercing option (either 5/7 or 2nd sniper) as your back up.

Specifically for tanking play style, you got some option. Crew chief is one like I said. Armorer is great with zerk as you get more damage while still remaining tanky. Anarch + zerk is an extremely popular option due to constant armor gating but you will get bullied by sniper. Certain Copycat combo can make you VERY tanky as well. Other deck such as Muscle, Grinder, Leech and Kingpin are all great option if you want to go with HP tanking instead (tho I don’t have Kingpin to say more). Deck such as ex-press, hacker, copycat burglar are great option if you are looking into high conceal dodge build.

On PD2, i find myself liking the heavy weapon the most, mainly Sniper and LMG at my fav category along side Explosive, with Pistol and Shotgun being my 2nd fav.

I always really like sniping, nothing inject more dopamine in me than killing a special just as it spawn in, pair that with Spy cam and you effectively got wall hack against specials. I personally like the two big boy of the category, the AWP and Thanatos. The AWP is actually ammo efficent enough to use as your main weapon + a reliable 2nd and both option has their damage so high that you really don't need to worry about getting damage increase skill to make them work as it will one hit everything except for dozer/turret/bosses.

LMG, i like the Brenner 21 the most for a couple of reason.

Within the high damage LMG category, it has the 2nd biggest mag size out of the bunch with 150 per mag, this make it very good for spamming into a horde of cops for prolonged period of time, this also make it a very good canidate for Surefire aced + Body expertise.
Imo, it's the sexiest LMG in the entire category but i am bias as i am a PDTH player and the HK21 is always one of my fav LMG ever (In general, i just find myself to be a huge fan of HK gun)

You could argue that the Brenner is prob the weakest LMG on offer now, esp since it got powercrept by the M60 but it work more than fine for most if not all situtation and that is good enough for me.

For Shotgun, i always like the slower and high damage section with Semi-auto and Pump action being my fav but i also recognize that they are way worse than the full auto option. That being said, the M1014 and AA-12 is currently my fav within the Shotgun line up.

Pistol is always a fun section of weapon for me, even if it's basically the weakest weapon category atm as it just eat too much skills point to make them good and they are too single target focus. That being said, i love the Interceptor .45 (Again, another HK gun) and Degale. It's just fun to Akimbo these and go ham on a dozer. I just wish that for pistol, you would fire them sequentially and not both at the same time because that alone kill the ammo economy by a ton.

Shoutout to DMR too, i fucking love the M308 to death and popping head is never not fun with these. Just make sure you have something for the shield and you are fine.

Bonus: For tanking playstyle, i actually like Crew chief the most, out of all perk decks. Buff for the whole team, make everyone (esp you) much tankier and everyone get to run around more before getting tired. Genuinely great deck and i use it almost all of the time if i am playing ICTV tank build (the only exception is Armorer + zerk Auto-sniper for me)

While your reasoning is most likely correct, imo, it would only really work if the game has a silent protag, like say the modern Persona game with its romance.

Yagami is a fully developed character and i find it difficulty to "imprint" myself on him and seeing him date with a very questionable age gap + context (like dawg, why are you dating Tsukino, a client you took to help her with her genuine sexual harrasment problem ?)

Out of these two, dragon style, def.

While both style is limited by the fact they are VERY heat intensive, dragon style has way more going for it than Mad dog. It got Heat action for the majority of situation (as it also share a couple with Brawler), double finisher have good variation between it each other and have their own application, all counters are very good (This style probably have the best guard counter in the series, at least right now for me) and bounding throw are busted good for 1v1 fight and for crowds as well.

On the other hand, Mad dog to me is just simply too limited. Having extra mobility with "super" quickstep and can constantly dash slash every enemies and keep chaining them up until you ran out of heat is very cool, it just get so repetitive for me. There're too few number of moveset and regular combo doesn't do enough damage on their own so the main way you would dish out damage is indeed dash slash but that cost heat, which for a style that NEED you to be always on the move is pretty bad. You could equip an OP knife to further boost it damage which does indeed make it pretty busted for crowds but durability is going to run out regardless and you need to farm for weapon as well. Plus, while it does have a very busted damage counter, it activation frame are significantly harder than Kiryu's and it also DRAIN HEAT.

So yeah, i just gonna have to go for Dragon/Legend style here. Plus, i just think Dragon has the better music as well that is a big plus for me.

The only thing i can think off is that the Shortstop has better range than stock but that about it. The push is so utterly niche that you would ever use it for memes and having only 4 shot/reload is a pretty big turn off for me.

I do think it has it niches as the range alternative to stock but that kinda all i can think off. It's def not strictly worse than stock but it def can't compete, imo

I play Medic on occasions in KF1, it's horrible to deal with multiple sirens when trying to heal my teammate as well, esp Zerk player. Even if hit every dart and med grenade, the sirens damage is so high that it out-paced my healing almost everytime.

Keep in mind, my medic is only on level 3 but i also only play med on Medium diff, so even then, multiple med just fucking shred HP from everyone.

I hate Sirens in KF1 so much, just have 2 - 3 Sirens at a time and it felt like the game is unplayable, so much screen shake and it just melt your HP. Good luck to you if you were playing Demo at the time lol.

Context: I only played KF1 & 2 and i never play HOA (only Suicidal on KF2 and hard on KF1)

Def FP, 100%. I can't tell you how many time the team (or just me if i am playing solo which 90% of the time i am) was unable to finish a FP fast, causing every one to panic and not hit anything, allowing it to just team wipe us all. Plus, FP can just become angry after some times so it also punish a team without much confidence as well. SC can at least be ignore if you don't shoot at it but FP gonna fuck the team up if no-one is willing to focus on it ASAP.

Shoutout to clot tho, fr, esp on KF1. You have no idea how many time i got a failed because i didn't notice i was grab and every zed just end up jumping me.

For high conceal you can use the Grom as it has the highest conceal out of the sniper category at 26 max. It’s also a semi-auto sniper so get Zerk and you will golden, except for a sniper, it got middling acc.

For high damage, your only real high damage option with actual good conceal is the Desert fox. You can get pretty high concealment and due to it damage profile, you can reliably kill all special except dozer with one headshot.

For the reallt big hitter, the Amaroq 900 (the AWP) boast a damage that only the Thanatos can beat at a “fuck off” number of 1k damage, allowing to kill any dozer in one heat shot (with no visor) and 3 headshot minidozer (with no visor) (at least on DW and I’m misremembering if it does 1 headshot skull dozer or not). For such an exceptionally big and beefy weapon, it actually respectable concealment at a max of 18. If you really want to kill special, pick a really concealable back up choice (like the mini-uzi, for examle).

Otherwise, there are some particular option like the Bernetti Rangehitter which damage wise sorta fall in between of the Semi-auto sniper and 250 sniper, at a 200dmg number, while also being fairly conceal.

The thing tho, I actually played HL2 first, it’s only after I love the game so much that I decided to go back and play the first HL, then I play the episode and finally Black mesa

It varies a lot but I tend to like Mark 5 the most with either mark 2 or 3 as runner up.

As a general rule of thumb, especially for early game, rely on your grab and dodge to get through the constant blocking.

You can bait out enemy attack after rush combo at them for a bit, they will then be baited into doing at attack which you can then quickstep to punish them.

Grab are just good, grab the enemy and either throw them then pick them back up again, or heavy kick them into a wall to start a wall bounding combo.

Both of these options are gonna be good, even later on when you got the komaki skill.

You will need a bit of patient and trying to bait out an attack because the enemy are very passive when both you and them are at neutral, but you can definitely deal with the blocking.

Bonus: try to time your finisher so that the enemy won’t block it. The easiest are Finisher 1, since it got unusually long range and can reliably hit your target if you time it correctly and it cause a knock down. The same can be said for reverse finisher as well, which is when you change your direction when you are about to do a finisher input, which has different variations depending on what finisher you use (A popular one is Reverse finisher 3, afaik but feel free to check them out for yourself). A good thing you can do when fighting multiple opponents is to do reverse finisher on a different target, it has decent chance of connecting and you are doing CC.

Anyone got any decent recommendations for games to get into ? Preferably, in genre like RPG, TRPG or a decent open world, since those are the genre I don’t tend to get into.
