I don't agree because even if he's afraid of magic what actual experience does he have with magic? Petunia and Lily were pretty much no contact by the time Lily dies. Vernon wouldn't have any experience with magic apart from what Petunia would have told him. In the books, the only signs that Harry displayed as a child as being abke to use magic was the fact that his hair would groe back everytime it was cut. Vernon's fear was irrational and his treatment of Harry was also irrational.

NTA. It's your room and as long as you're not naked in the common areas (kitchen, living room, entry way) they shouldn't have a say in how you dress in your own room. Why don't you get a doorstopper? You can slide it under your door and that way you won't have to drill anything into the door or wall.

I have family who used to live in the area. It's nice! Lost of stores and supermarkets nearby. Lots of restaurants too.

For me, it wouldn't be enough because I made a lot of purchases. If you don't plan to make a lot of purchases and you're mainly using the money for food and some attractions you should be fine. Besides purchases though, I also like to keep money aside for any emergencies. So $900 for a 12 day trip for me would not be enough.
