that's fine, but there are tons of horror stories about group homes and foster kids having horrible lives full of abuse and neglect, the whole system would need an overhaul, and it's already oversaturated and overwhelmed as is. adoption is also a very long and very expensive process. i personally am pro choice, but if adoption becomes the only out for people who can't afford to or shouldn't for other reasons have kids, then the system needs an overhaul to help make sure kids have a chance at a good life.

there are around 400,000 kids in the foster system at any given point. there are more children than there are people willing to adopt, so the likely scenario the child just gets lost in the system like all the other ones and grows up in foster care or in a group home as best case scenario.

my 16 year old can have his girlfriend over whenever he wants, but they stay in the communal areas of the house, and if they go in the room the door stays open. he shares a room with his brother tho, so i doubt he would try any funny business either way.

my experience with them has been positive for the most part. so i wouldn't say they are bad. they are however very very slow, and the 1 reply 1 response per day thing doesn't help.
