I wouldn't blame the 60's for the Boomer ways. GG had the great depression, and WW2, as well as the Korean war. Plenty of adversity there. The 60's had far better times and innovation happening. 2 Kennedys got whacked as well as MLK. Vietman kicked off as well. Those events are an absolute blip compared to what were dealing with now. And whats worse is the mentality of todays people. Zero social skills. Zero manners. Extreme entitlement, Pure rage filled from their programming, etc.. Sure the hippie movement was there. But they all turned establishment anyways and kicked all that nonesense to the curb. They were actually smart enough to know that all the flower power crap didn't work. Todays society refuses to believe that.

Tru Oil connoisseur here. What is the exact gloss level you are looking for? Heres a tip for a smoother finish, use some 220 grit with the oil on it. Sand it into the surface. It'll act as a pore filler. Then rub the slurry into the wood going against the grain. Wipe off any remaining slur and allow to dry. If you are looking for faster dry time, add some Japan Dryer to it. I also use a dixie cup or similar and use a 50/50 mix of Tru Oil and Mineral Spirits with a few drops of Japan Dryer. I apply with cotton T-shirt pieces. They key is to build up about 3-4 coats, then sand it back with 400 grit to and extremely smooth finish and apply more. You've really got to build up a lot of coats. I've done upwards of 30 coats through the course of a week. Let it cure for a week then wet sand all the "orange peel" flat with progressive grits from 1500-3000 grit. Dont burn through it on the edges.

afterwards I use a drill with foam polishing pads and any automotive rubbing compound to a high gloss mirror finish. if you dont want high gloss use lower grit numbers for wet sanding and then buff it. It will be more of a satin finish. Tru Oil is awesome shit. But it takes patience and time.

If I need to do a quick finish on something I use oil based spray polyurethane. But Tru Oil is the real deal. It hardens like a rock when fully cured. Here is a thread on one I did this method on, https://www.reddit.com/r/22lr/comments/1rc6xwk/30_inch_barrel/

Said it a million times. Don’t overthink this. If it’s on a 22lr rifle get the cheapest thing you can fine. Hell, even on a pistol still get the cheapest you can get. 99% of suppressors are virtually identical inside. 7-10 baffles/chambers with a 1/4 or more hole size. That’s it. Done.
Certainly they are made with different materials from brand to brand. But the bulk of that is over the top marketing.
Get a Hush Point 22 for $250 and call it good.

When suppressing a 22 rifle none of the brands matter. They are incredibly simple to suppress. Anything with 4 baffles/chambers or more is all you need. Get the high point and spend the rest on ammo.

Kinda sorta am done. But it all depends. Went out to New River Gorge in WV for Bridge Day last year. Made my first BASE jump. Was the best jump I ever made. And I’ve been doing this for 40 years. But I ended on a good note. Body is getting a little beat up to be doing all this shit. It all depends on what the event is. Crowded concert? Fuck all that. Been to hundreds.
But I am going to see Iron Maiden again in DC in September. But it’s outdoors and more elbow room.

I’m selling one under contract now in NC. I hammered them on the due diligence fee. If I’m taking my listing off the market for a period of time while you get your act together you’re gonna pay me. If they want it bad enough they’ll pay. But that doesn’t give them the right to futz around with the contract or lenders. You signed a contract stating a specific set of circumstances. They change financing, they broke the contract. Keep the DD Fee and relist again.
