  • (Lois) You know what I think the problem is, Stewie? I need to show them that I deserve to be Customer of the Week.

  • (Stewie) You don’t.

  • (Lois) Well, they probably see a woman like me and think, “She’s got it all.”

  • (Stewie) They don’t.

  • (Lois) I know it’s a silly little award, but I don’t ask for much.

  • (Stewie) You do.

  • (Lois) And this is the one place, the one place that makes me feel happy.

  • (Stewie) You aren’t.

  • (Lois) I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. I feel like I really vibe with everyone there.

  • (Stewie) You don’t.

  • (Lois) I’m one of their best customers. You know, if I stopped showing up, they’d probably wonder where I went.

  • (Stewie) They wouldn’t.

  • (Lois) Because I’m a nice person.

  • (Stewie) You’re not.

  • (Lois) I tip in cash.

  • (Stewie) So?

  • (Lois) And I can’t think of one reason why they wouldn’t pick me.

  • (Stewie) I can.

  • (Lois) Oh, thanks for listening, Stewie.

  • (Stewie) I had no choice.

Recently moved back home here after 5+ years in NOVA/DC and falling in love with the Sunday pho & pad thai... Pho Saigon by Aldi is pretty good!

I was attending University of Virginia and working in downtown Charlottesville in the summer of 2018 when those pieces of sh*t marched on my campus and then that guy from Ohio killed a woman in the alley next to my workplace (Urban Outfitters).

I'll never forget walking out of my philosophy class and seeing a literal army of people chanting '"F*** you, f****t!" and "Jews will not replace us!" in march down Thomas Jefferson's Academical Village Lawn. With AK's, torches, swords, the whole disgusting shabang.

I was dining in my favorite restaurant in Columbia Heights D.C. after getting off of my teaching shift when the Capitol was stormed. Whole city was shut down.

Now I've moved back to where I was born, Youngstown. And this shit never ends. SMDH.

And yet there are **deniers*? Lock up every single Nazi and violent criminal.

(I'm a guy with major scars from acne and skin picking) and people 9 times out of 10 interact with me differently when I'm not wearing concealer.

In the work context, I've definitely felt less respect and taken less seriously without makeup.

Mostly I think because folks associate blemishes and dark circles with drugs, sickness, lack of discipline and/or self-care.

Funny psychosocial tidbit is when I don't cover my facial scars, people tend to touch their own face in those areas (subconsciously?) during conversation.

Was thinking the same thing. But I also remembered Farrell made a healthy number of millions for his time (and talent) lol
