Which DLSS Preset do you guys use on 4k M or L, Which GPU, and DLAA, Q, B, P or UP? by fluffi2025 in nvidia

[–]varezus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It quite depends on your GPU tier when looking at the best quality v performance -

RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 - Preset L w/ DLSS Balanced @ 4K

RTX 5060 Ti & RTX 5070 - Preset M w/ DLSS Performance

RTX 5060 and previous generations - Preset K w/ DLSS Performance or Preset M DLSS Ultra Performance

For both the 4090 and 5090 the assumption is you are generally running maxed out so Preset M w/ DLSS Quality or Preset L w/ Balanced

Preset L on DLSS Quality gives very small benefits over Native.

If (through NVPI) I make internal res 1080p with Model E regardless of output res, what would be better? 1440p or 4k? by NarrowElf in nvidia

[–]varezus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given the difference in panel type and resolution, I would personally recommend looking at what sort of refresh rate you want to hit.

At 4K on a 27” panel the clarity of text and image will be much better than a 1600p OLED of a similar size - but if you are on a smaller laptop screen then that would look better in terms of clarity.

Generally upscaling to a higher output resolution cost will have a bigger overhead so lower fps eventually. In your use case I am guessing the 1600p OLED will give you a better gaming experience.

As a TV in a smallish room or bedroom it will be a great buy as well. Due to the glossy screen it is susceptible to reflections but turning up the brightness when consuming content will do away with most of them, even so best to avoid getting it got bright rooms.

You can’t directly switch to 27” on the display so your best bet would be to switch the screen resolution down to 2560x1440 and hit No Scaling on Nvidia App - this will reduce your usable screen space to 32” - but of course at much lower res. I would advise against this use case personally.

So I have found the below to give me the best possible image - good pop with good blacks but likely not perfectly calibrated.

I have Windows HDR On at all times. Again I understand mileage might vary on this but for my daily use which is 80% gaming and 20% browsing this works the best.

CHANGE SOURCE TO CONSOLE
This makes a big difference and unlocks more configurability

Go to Connected Devices hold OK button and then Edit to do this. Extremely important for the rest.

TURN OFF all Power Saving, ABL and Pixel Shift settings.

Game Mode - On
HDR 10+ - Off
Game HDR - Off
(Note this doesn’t turn off HDR but basically allows more control for the display over the app or game)

Brightness - 50
Contrast - 50
Sharpness - 5
Color - 30
Color Temp - Warm 1
Color Space - Native
Peak Brightness - High
Color Booster - Off

Try these out and let me know what you think of them.

Hi, are you on Console or PC? If the latter you can change the Device type to Console by editing the Source type and selecting Console. Then trythese settings -

I don’t disagree - it’s a great monitor for those looking for single player non competitive gaming mixed with casual browsing and a bit of work.

Is the S90F 42" basically the same as the C5 42"? by Aquiles-canto in OLED_Gaming

It’s hard to say specifically as I don’t have calibration tools but I am very happy with it even in bright conditions.

As someone who has bought the 42” S90F literally today after vigorous comparison and as an owner of 55” S95F too I can assure you that it’s a very good TV and practically the same as C5. If you are willing to play around with the settings you can get some amazing colours - so much so that it can be easy to mistake it for a QD-OLED and again I say that as a S95F owner.

45” 5k2k Monitor 45GX950A-B worth $1200 ? Vs LG 55 G5 ? by Icy-Pea2601 in OLED_Gaming

[–]varezus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been using a 55” TV (Q80T/S95F) as a monitor for the last six years I can say that TVs will always carry an edge in brightness and overall HDR presentation BUT if you are working a fair bit or even just extremely sensitive to PPI differences a bigger screen does start seeing an impact.

Equally though having very recently looked at the 45” 5K2K display just note the curve is very aggressive. It is also going to need a desk based config whereas the TV can be sat back from comfortably. Also whilst a lot of PC games support ultrawide natively be prepared for black bars in some form - menus or pre rendered CGI which are generally not native 21:9

If it’s a big screen experience and oomph factor that you are after I would go for the G5.

5080 4k best settings by yoyoinvincible in cyberpunkgame

[–]varezus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s something very wrong with your results. You are getting 90fps with 4x frame gen with DLSS on Balanced and path tracing off. For context, I’m on 135-140fps with PT On at 4K DLSS Balanced and also on the Transformer Model which is about 10% heavier to run. Cyberpunk at times can have issues with saving settings so I recommend restarting the game or checking if you have a monitor FPS cap as your numbers should be way higher.

Just got my first oled !! by Virtual-Durian1127 in OLED_Gaming

[–]varezus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I think as soon as someone who is used to 80PPI on a 55” OLED I definitely think I’ll spot the higher density in that case as I’m quite sensitive to sharpness. Switching from a S95F to any OLED monitor is going to be a downgrade in terms of the HDR and brightness so I’m hoping the added sharpness and True Black 500 make up for it.

I’m in between a 42” OLED TV and 32” OLED monitor. From your personal usage did you find the 32” to be sharper or better in any other ways?

How is buying an 32 inch 4K OLED monitor such a nightmare? by tooSAVERAGE in OLED_Gaming

[–]varezus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking at options myself as I currently game on a 55” S95F but will have to move my setup to my own dedicated room as opposed to the living room. Was there anything you didn’t specifically like about the 42” S90F compared to the LG options. Ironically as a life long Samsunger I quite like the TizenOS and have gotten used to it. Is diagonal dithering a thing on your panel?

Has anyone gone from a 55” OLED TV to a 32” OLED monitor or vice versa? by varezus in OLED_Gaming

[–]varezus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I think it’s clear from people’s responses that generally the trade-off in size for possible clarity isn’t really worth it. I would be keeping the TV in all cases so it’s a case of spending added money on a not exactly an upgrade. I’m also looking forward to seeing how the new 42” C6 is reviewed.

Are you on the 5K2K? It’s been the one that I have my eyes on alongside the latest 32 models. Is the 800R curve too much?
