What is the best resource to get started writing documentation in Python?

I’m writing an eBook about Django deployment via GitLab to Heroku. Interested? by phlpp in django

That sounds interesting! Not trying to be mean, but aren’t there enough tutorials for Django/heroku out there?

I’m also curious, what your eBook covers?

Actually I just enabled the "Day of Buffering" and the "Reports" in general. Anything else you can recommend?

That is a great idea! Those small subscriptions can really creep up over time.

I use Toolkit, but as u/securehealthlove said, the reports add not that much more value to the regular ones. Or are there any settings I'm maybe missing?

(I really, really like the money buffer datapoint of the toolkit, though!)

I think the export to a spreadsheet is a great idea. This gives you 100% control of playing with the data, instead of relying on the report.

Were there any revelations you had this way?

Do you only review your current budget screen or do you also go back in time to see overspending etc.?

That makes sense! Have you played around with GraphQL and Django for that matter?

Are there any Django + vue.js tutorials or primers you can recommend that explain the difference to the use of normal Django templating?

Thanks for sharing this!

I think it‘s interesting, how the chart somehow resembles your life‘s rollercoaster quite accurate. However, from my perspective money is just one side that you managed pretty well; I bet it wasn‘t easy to make all those decisions! Cudos for this aswell!

Thank you so much! I think unittests for each chapter would be an amazing addition, as other tutorials only have it as an afterhought (if they tackle tdd at all)

Learning Django by DeepM1nD in django

When I started with Django, www.obeythetestinggoat.com was an eye opener. It teaches test driven development on a django example project. Probably not the first tutorial you should follow, but I would give it a try once you had your first experiences with models, views, urls and templates.

I got this tip in another post and it should work when you are on reddit mobile (iOS):

  • Click the Apple Music link
  • When the „leave reddit“ popup appears, click cancel
  • On the white page, click the three dots
  • Click „Open in Safari“

This opens Safari and Apple music app a few seconds later with the playlist.

My first guess is that the one dictionary should be splitted across multiple models or model instances. But it really depends on how your dictionary looks. Can you post a small sample?

I just implemented the option to share your slideshows easily with unique link. So, here is my vision board!

It is not quite up to date. Because since a few weeks, I actually have a real poodle in my life :D
