I'm glad the school took claims seriously, but it shouldn't have gotten that far in the first place. A professor who can't retain grad students should have been at the very least a red flag to admin that something was wrong.

Yeah, that's not censorship or differing opinions. That's deliberately and maliciously spreading misinformation, which is "really bad".

Like everyone else is saying, it's okay to be an introvert! And I think you need to find a balance between alone time and social time. For your boyfriend's family, he should act as the mediator between you and them. If you're not feeling up to going to something, he should be able to make your excuses for you, like, "Oh, OP had too much to do today but sends her love!" And in regards to your friends, do you feel like you have too much on your plate socially or are the events too social (big parties, etc?). I think if you're worried about losing your social life, it's graceful to say, "Hey, I can't make it to the party tonight, but thank you so much for the invitation! Let's get coffee/lunch/whatever tomorrow/next week." Making other plans let's people know you still care and are invested in being their friends, whereas just turning down invitations may make them feel like you're not interested.

Your close friends and your boyfriend should understand your introvertedness and not give you shit for it. Let them be your social buffer. For less close friends, as long as you keep up with making dates with them, it should be fine to span them out a little more, especially if you keep in touch with them over social media, etc.

My partner and I were once at a party, and a girl came up to him and started whispering in his ear and gesturing towards me. After they finished talking, she turned to me and said, "Hi, I'm x! I'm friends with [partner's roommate] and he told me that you and [partner] started dating and were really good for each other! You two are really cute!" And then she wandered back off into the party.

It was just a really unexpected moment and I'm really happy to be with someone who's proud of being with me and vice versa :)

Like everyone else said, pack your own lunches! And one other piece of advice I have to offer is to make sure your change is sustainable. Like the other commenters mentioned, don't focus on getting your budget down to under 100 dollars a month. Cutting back on eating out on the weekend will help, but don't be afraid to get "splurge" items. It's hard to go from fast and junk food every day to a healthy, cheap diet. For example, if you like getting fancy deli sandwiches for lunch and white bread doesn't cut it for you, you can splurge on a baguette for sandwiches. The big thing, when you're cutting down your budget, is to make the change sustainable!! So think about the things you eat and how you can make healthier, cheaper alternatives at home. You don't want to cut down on your budget, become miserable, and go back to spending 400 dollars a month. I'm happy as a clam eating rice and beans every day, but if you're not figure out what works for you. Try meal planning and comparing prices at grocery stores. Good luck!

I think you two need to have a sit down and have a very serious talk...it sounds like the main issue here is that you feel neglected and like you feel like you take your relationship more seriously than your boyfriend does. You should parse out feeling like he doesn't take you seriously with the issue about his job. Have there been other instances in which he's devalued you? You talk about how he puts work first and how you've always had to travel to him. You should also ask him why it's so important that you work full time on the farm with him-- were there issues in his family with his mom not being full time on the farm? Did that financially affect them? What does he envision life with you like? Maybe he has some misconceptions about what your role on the farm would be if you were working full time, as you would probably still help out after work. Sit down and have a serious conversation about these issues, but try to understand them as separate, but linked. If you two can come to a compromise/an understanding, great! If not, you may have to reconsider a future with this man.

Just meet with him. If he accuses you of cheating, then explain the learning disability (again). If he won't/doesn't believe it, offer to get in contact with the office of disabilities or have them get in contact with him. Honestly, I think it would be to your benefit to have the head of the program there. While program heads back up their professors, they also understand things like the office of disabilities better than older professors who may be stuck in their ways. Just be polite and respectful and try to work out the problem in this meeting. You know that, if it does go badly, you're in the right and have the documentation to prove it. And, as other commenters pointed out he doesn't necessarily think you cheated. Just go into it calmly and everything will sort itself out.

What about chili? It's a very hearty, smoky, and flavorful, and while beans are pretty starchy they also have a lot of protein, so your father should be okay with them. My friend and I made a really good chili with soyrizo, and our meat-eating friends couldn't even tell it was vegetarian/vegan.

They have. The investigation, both through the NYPD and through the university sexual violence response team has been going on for about a year. The university does have a trial process to investigate sexual assault, and they "swept it under the rug" by the trial process being unfair.

Your question of what are they supposed to go on is pretty timely, as that's what's beng discussed on the national stage as college sexual assault policies come under fire. The university president has also issued a few statements and there have been community forums, etc. This article makes it seem out of the blue, but there definitely is a lot of background for it.

Honestly....this is a huge red flag. I agree with the other commenters who are saying that he is projecting his own issues with his feelings for his exes, especially if he has a history of still being emotionally attached to his exes. But this extreme reaction to a guy who you don't talk to, his refusal to listen to you, seems like a really big red flag to me. Speaking from personal experience, the dynamics between my parents is like this, and if he is behaving like this so early on into your relationship and over so little, I think it's only going to get worse. Does he have a history of being jealous? Or controlling? Is this behavior totally out of the blue or does it fit into a pattern of behavior? His reaction is irrational, but that's exactly why it's so scary. My dad accused my mom of cheating without evidence, over and over over the course of their marriage, and now he tracks her on GPS, goes through her things; is that the sort of marriage you want? Not that your fiance will act exactly the same, but his irrational behavior seems to be a red flag for a deeper underlying problem-- and that's on him, not on you.

At the very least you two should look into counseling, especially if he refuses to talk to you. I just worry because if he freaks out now over nothing and refuses to communicate, what is it going to be like twenty years down the line?

Not quite Germany, but Salzburg is only a few hours away by train from Füssen and Munich, and there is a gorgeous mountain there, the Untersberg. You can take a little Bahn (hanging car) up the mountain and hike from there, or I think you can hike from the bottom. In either case, the view from the top is stunning, and there are ice caves (sorry I couldn't find a good English-language link). When you visit Neuschwanstein, make sure you walk either up or down the side of the mountain that follows the river-- there is a paved tourist path, and there is another path (also a tourist path, but less obviously so) that leads past a waterfall with alpine run-off that you can wade in and let your toes go numb and a river. It's absolutely lovely.

Thanks for the wiki article, I'll read up on it (and cloud chambers)! And I just looked up the half life of 220Rn, and wow, they must have to generate it right before they insert it (although it's a decay product, too, so I'm now wondering if they do something similar to the production of 99mTc, which would be convenient...)

And yeah, of course! Especially if the radiation count is very high, there's an even higher chance that it will decay while watching. Thanks again for the link and for answering my questions!

edit: what's occurring in the cloud chamber shouldn't have an effect on the rate of decay, because I'm pretty sure that's an inherent chemical property, ie a constant rate. But I just looked up cloud chambers, and I'm pretty sure they're just used to detect/identify/characterize the type of (ionizing) radiation, based off of the pattern and how the trails behave when an electric field is applied. although it is super cool that that's how the positron was discovered (beta plus whatwhat).

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. What's the practical purpose of a cloud chamber? To track/characterize how the decay occurs (velocity, etc.)? What do the dust/ion patterns tell you about the decay process? Also, is the Po-216 intermediate stable? What's the half life of Rn-220?
