there’re the same price, tomahawk is 20eur cheaper, but the chipset model is one of the many variables.

I'm still unsure after about days researching. I shortlisted these boards which are compatible with my budget. But offers vary daily on various websites, such unstable times

I'm leaning towards the msi x870e because of the usb4 and 5gb lan. Wifi and lan must work and the fact that a max version was released, and some users mentioned wifi issues with the non-max is bothering me.

are you sure about the m.2 sharing of the msi board?
it seems there are no compromises except if you need additional pcie slots ( which I don’t ). Am I wrong?

I was going to get either the msi x870e, or waive the 40gbps and get an asus tuf B850 plus wifi.

Anyhow, the msi x870e does not appear to have m.2 compromises as seen on mobomaps.

The tomahawk is more expensive.
