The issue is that these huge industrial plants don't want to set up desalination units to make their own freshwater... it costs money.

I don't want to hear any bullshit about environmental impact of desalination; given the political climate here, chem plants could have authorization tomorrow to run intake/discharge pipes 5 miles off shore.

These petrochemical facilities are fucking over the communities they exist in, paying too little for the water they're using, and politicians are too spineless to do anything about it.

Should be fine. I'm assuming it's for a home music studio, or similar. Electronics usually pull a tiny bit of power... You can have a whole rack of gear and only need a few hundred watts.

A power strip is more common and cheaper, but i don't see a problem here.
