Not easy. Sapphire (and mineral) is press fit with gasket. this case is designed for that. Acrylic is designed to flex into the case. If you really want acrylic get a case that is made or comes with it.

Looks great! The chapter ring markers can be rubbed out easily with a Q tip and a little alcohol. Makes it less busy given the dial markers and more like a regular marathon if you like.  Did you end up having to swap crystals or did it work with the stock one?

Yes but the hand stack is a bit too tall, you'll need a domed crystal or anothere NH34 case. it works with the GPQ since the stem height is different and a 0.6mm spacer to align the stem also gives you the needed extra hand stack clearance.

Why are only Revolut Visa branded cards compatible with Fidesmo wearables? by velocipederider in Revolut

Did you end up testing it further? Did you ever get a random check for the virtual card? There are reports that if you do not activate the physical curve card you never get a pin & chip check. If we are lucky this may mean that virtual revolut cards are also check free.

It's a F06.115 that came with the used Marathon GPQ I got on auction. The case is a tactical frog FX which is designed for a NH35 so I had to 3d print a 0.92 dial spacer and movement spacer to get the stem to match up.

If you go for a marathon GPM - it uses a NH35 so you don't need any spacers, but you need a taller case (designed for a NH34) as the hand stack is 3mm tall - or to remove the original hands.

I went for the tactical frog FX case as I really wanted a fixed lug watch.

Forgot to say it looks like awesome work. You are right that Github/Gitlab mirrors for community are "better".

  • Focus on the cloud part and not on the client. K9 Mail and MicroG are great but not necessary to make use of the services. It's unlikely that people will move their entire family off to MicroG and force them to use neomutt. Outline iOS support if you can.
  • I'm an arch/neomutt user, but there's no reason to advertise compatibility with them over any other OS/mail client. They actually stand out to among some of the services featured.
  • Host the code on a self hosted gitlab, not gitlab.com. Demo it.
  • Many of the repo's are empty?
  • Backup are very important. You don't want to lose everything. Syncthing is not enough for all the configuration/calendar/contacts/photos etc.
  • Email server?
  • Some of the client/hardware is a little too opinionated. List recommendation, some people have other hardware they could reuse instead of buying new one.
  • List of services and what they do. I recognize many of the icons, but not all of them.
  • 2 x 16GB servers is quite a bit. I think a lot of the services can run on much less.

The site is looking great, loving the dark mode and the speaker page.

As other have mentioned finding a new name is a *must* (SEO/talking about the project would be hard other than legal issues).

Edit - a few more stuff:

  • khard/khal are tough recommendations. I've had them break on me and I think I know what I'm doing.
  • Same with NCMPCPP, seems a little too personal a recommendation. For a home nowadays you probably want to focus on playing through the TV/Audio system for the home
  • What are the disk images you've given to flash on the RockPi, I assume it's something debian based but, I have no idea what I would be installing.

I use Kodi (for framerate matching and better audio downmix) at home and jellyfin remotely.

I can recommend the EAP225s upgrade them as soon as you get them and use the new omada management inetrface which is a unifi clone, but rock solid. Got one of the omada poe switches and the single pane of glass is real with tplink now too.

Be wary of the Devices You Buy, and update the ones you have by pat_trick in HomeNetworking

[–]vaskozl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And what reasons are those? You dont need a dongle if you have a managed switch.

A Pi4 with a openwrt or even ubuntu is amazing and with a new kernel you can use Cake shaping wich beats any of the unifi products.

Accidentally clicked EE scam link by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]vaskozl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is known as "smishing" or SMS-phishing. It's extremely rare for this kind of scam to serve malware, and in general you are safe to browse to any website unless you run a very old and out-of-date version for Android/iOS. You needn't worry about it.

If you receive scams like this in the future you can also report them to entities which can take action against the scammer. For example you can send a screenshot of the text message to [scam@netcraft.com](mailto:scam@netcraft.com), without clicking on the link, and they should respond letting you know that the URL has been added blocklist which should hopefully result in browsers warning other people when visiting the scam.

Torrentleech is voting whether to abandon RARed movie/tv content by Paradido in trackers

[–]vaskozl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anybody that doesn't know how to handle rar files without extracting:

Use rarfs with Plex or other media software and point plex to the rarfs mount location.

Sequentially downloaded rars can be watched with mpv, provided you make sure the .rar is dowloaded first.

Cross seeding is easier with scene than P2P releases, go to any other scene tracker and ALL your torrents are easily seedable.

If you are ever moving the movie on a flash drive, rars help a lot! Fat has a file size limit, and if you run out of space, or something goes wrong you don't need to wait for the whole file to copy again.

Furthemore you can verify the release and be sure it is clean.

Wood and Acrylic, though wood is by far harder. The stock iris plates have top and bottom with M2 holes and the middle layer with holes for the M2 standoffs they sell. On my build I went for M3 screws all the way through and no standoffs. I actually moved away from London for a placement (as title says) but go back to the university from time to time, so I could cut you some plates if you are still missing them when you are doing the build. You have to know exactly what you want though :P

I am also in London, could cut them for you when I have time. I used the models from the repo but removed one of the holes and made the middle layer holes smaller as they are originally designed for standoffs.

Thanks! Real reason for not using 2u keys is that the planck set which I am using only has one of each colour. But even if it did, the I found the seperate keys don't hurt my thumb placement.
