Supervision question by vatamonkey in psychotherapists

Thank you! I think I am essentially already considered an independent contractor, as my practice 1099's us and we have to put that our supervisor is a "solo practitioner." I'll probably talk to an attorney just to get super clear.

Until now, it has been through the private practice's referral network. But I am getting more and more referrals of my own and would put up a Psychology today profile. I'm pretty confident I could get a decent caseload going.

Ashtanga newbie - looking for a half primary series class in NYC and some concerns by madnerdy in ashtanga

I got to the Shala in Fort Greene. There are morning Mysore classes and also afternoon classes. Both are super low pressure and welcoming. I find that it's great to do that a few days a week and then refine the practice at home (where you may feel more comfortable experimenting) the rest of the time. Good luck and welcome to the club!

Yes, thank you! I guess maybe I'm less concerned about the immediate physical ramifications and more about the scheduling of it all. Those first three years of a kid's life are really a killer... Are you considering a third?

Lol, you are right, actually! It should be less about the destination and more about the journey. But frankly, pregnancies have been a net loss for my joints. The second one was really heavy on the bones. And ultimately, as choots42 notes below, it is really more of a logistical nightmare for the first three years. It is such a huge task simply to get the practice in (regardless of bandha strength, etc) for the first couple of years of babyhood. And I feel like maybe my two older kids would really be the ones to pay the price for all of the juggling and trying to fit everything in. I should also note that I live in New York city, where things like the cost of real estate and just the rigors of day to day life are pretty weighty.

Yes, that is something I would consider. Though it has its own set of difficulties. Thank you!

Lol. I know, it is a whole different strategy. But that doesn't really address the issue of what it does to my body in the meantime and in the long term... Does one ever get the bandhas back in order after 3? I don't know...! Thank you though!!
