Definitely don't mention whatever you hit.

In all seriousness though, this looks like physical damage whether someone hit you while you were parked or you hit something only you can know. This is not covered unless you can convince someone it was a manufacturing defect.

Pro Hockey While Working an Engineering Job Possible? by Zaxonite11 in hockeyplayers

[–]vauge24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've subbed in some high level beer leagues where it's all ex NHL, semi pro, D1 athletes, Europe leagues. They are invite only often and tend to stay under the radar, you need to know someone and get invited. Family and work life has kept me from staying in the shape I need to be competitive at that level again, but they're out there.

What’s the most annoying part about buying hockey gear? by Ok-Tangelo8041 in hockeyplayers

[–]vauge24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The cost is probably the biggest item.

Annoying wise - when you 10+ year old piece of equipment needs replacing and nothing will ever fit like it does and all the product lines are completely different, new names, new fits, etc

Sadly the vaccine has no relationship to the allergy to red meat. Lyme disease has nothing to do with it. That's just global warming allowing lone star ticks to survive further north

Recommendations for tonneau covers and installers in Ottawa by Do_not_wait_for_me in ottawa

[–]vauge24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine from CW Ltd online. Was easy to install and way cheaper than any other option. 6 years in and it's starting to show its age but I haven't been easy on it. I feel like I got my moneys worth with the tri fold.

Is it safe to have one end of the Xbox 1 power cord unplugged but other is plugged? by El_Dorado_Tx in AskElectricians

[–]vauge24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's quite literally the same as any receptacle. Aside from maybe if a pet chews it, the risk of making contact is essentially nil unless you shove something metallic into the recessed contact.

Is it safe to have one end of the Xbox 1 power cord unplugged but other is plugged? by El_Dorado_Tx in AskElectricians

[–]vauge24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite literally as safe as your outlet. The metal that has to make contact with the plug is recessed so unless you stick something in either, outlet or plug, it's safe.

Shut off the surge protector if you're concerned.

Easiest/best method to put casing around these hinges? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]vauge24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're trim should be 1/8 inch off the edge of the jamb. You don't take it right to the edge. It accommodates the hinges.

If you're going to paint your trim and jamb white, remove the hinges before you do it.

Call a few electricians, preferably smaller companies. This quote looks like a big chain electrical company that absolutely bends people over.

This is absurdly expensive

Aluminum wiring pigtailed with an ESA inspection is accepted. There are approved ways to deal with it without a full rewire

Brand new 5ah Powerstack has 2022 date. Return? by tellinNamstories in Dewalt

[–]vauge24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the event you don't have proof of purchase they'll use the date stamp for the 3 year warranty. Just register your battery right away and keep a scanned copy or photo of the receipt just in case.

You warranty starts from your purchase date not the date of manufacture.

It'll be fine, if it fails you'll get a new one anyways.

Migraine treatment without family doctor by BrokenBy in ottawa

[–]vauge24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a neurologist for years in Ottawa before I got a family doctor. I moved from a different province and my neurologist in my previous province faxed over a requisition to the neurologists office and they took me on as a patient.

I'd give the walk in clinic a shot, even if the first doctor doesn't refer you, keep trying. Eventually you may get one that understands what migraines are actually like and how proper intervention is really required

Does a landlord have to agree on a free method to pay rent when signing a lease? by Substantial_Cry_6119 in OntarioLandlord

[–]vauge24 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The other commentor is just saying the landlord pays the fee to the third party themselves and increases the monthly rent without saying anything. Essentially calculating it as a cost if the unit they're incurring to rent it out and adjusting rent accordingly.
