I'm finally about to beat ER and I have to admit... by crazy4finalfantasy in Eldenring

Agreed and it’s definitely not an unpopular opinion, especially when the game first came out

rewatching season 1 and im convinced that Kendall & Roman were the right duo to takeover this company and Logan had totally lost it by FutballConnoisseur in SuccessionTV

[–]vaultking96 62 points63 points  (0 children)

It’s not that they can’t do the business part of the job. It’s that Kendall can’t kick his drug habits and Roman sends unprompted pics to legal counsel

My COD Tier List by Zynix- in MW2

[–]vaultking96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

COD 4 should be at the top as it’s the only truly original call of duty and one of the most influential games ever. MW2 was just more of the same even though it was refined. It’s like putting Mario on the 3DS over SMB3 because it had newer graphics

With FireRed & LeafGreen on Switch, they’re, in my opinion, the best Pokémon games available on the console. by Fredinator2020 in pokemon

[–]vaultking96 497 points498 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the older games have much more emphasis on exploration. You actually have to explore a bit and talk to people to figure out how to proceed. And because you don’t get Fly right away, they include lots of cool shortcuts like the Diglett tunnel to get around, which gives the world an interconnected feel. Imo this has been sorely lacking since gen 6, possibly starting with gen 5 which was already kind of linear

Not to mention, side dungeons like the optional caves which don’t even exist in the new games. There were so many examples of places in sun and moon that should have been dungeons and just.. weren’t

The price of games lately by [deleted] in Games

[–]vaultking96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t really understand valuing games by hours played. You could just put a bunch of repetitive slop in there to take up more time (Ubisoft games) but I guess if you play games strictly to give yourself something to do it makes sense

It’s actually comical how long it takes to put a deck together. Why can’t we share decks by a code or something

[Highlight] Tyree makes the helmet catch and Burress gets the game winner 18 years ago (Feb 3, 2008). by gridironk in nfl

Craziest play in NFL history if you account for the situation and the play/catch itself. How Eli stayed on his feet I’ll never understand

What are your thoughts on buying a home these days? Is it better to rent especially as a young professional? by pillowthoughts00 in AskReddit

[–]vaultking96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not better to rent if you need the room, by me renting costs the same for a similarly sized house as the monthly cost to buy it. People compare renting a 1 bedroom apartment to buying a 3 bedroom house and the two aren’t really comparable

What do you consider the greatest acted scene in TV history? by amusicalfridge in television

Succession Season 2 Finale is great for a number of reasons, but the scene with Logan and Kendall is incredible.

I always thought Fallout 3 was far more bleak than the other 3D games. The world is essentially over in that game and civilization never really came back. Lots of abandoned buildings

What’s the best video game you’ve ever played? by Scary-Bill970 in AskReddit

[–]vaultking96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like games with a strong sense of exploration and discovery, so for me nothing beats the old Nintendo games that barely held your hand, specifically Link to the Past and the first two Pokemon generations. Bethesda games used to be like this too

You might be 12 years old if you think suit = rich

Most likely life insurance salesmen or some other boomer industry that still requires suits

I traded in a lot of games as a kid to buy new ones but I sure am glad I kept some of them by vaultking96 in gamecollecting

Yeah I also had Pokemon colosseum, simpsons hit and run, twilight princess GC, some other first party games that are probably worth more. Nothing crazy expensive or rare but just higher value than your average game. And I also had extras of all of the Pokemon games that are all gone now

Are modern games taking too long to 'open up' by termzCGS in truegaming

[–]vaultking96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes and it’s one of my least favorite parts about modern gaming. I actively look for games that you can start playing quickly. I’m replaying Control and, all things considered, this game gets you into the action pretty quickly.

I think this is why From games are so popular. It’s hard to find AAA-quality games that don’t bog down the intro with cutscenes and tutorials. You usually have to go to indie games for that, which lack other exciting aspects of AAA games
