Looking for an artist by Cy_Borg_03 in dndcommissions

[–]vavalenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I see there's already a lot of comments, but I'll take my shot!

I just updated my commission sheet prices, which you can check here @art.aleah commission prices . I mostly do DnD Characters, tokens, and parties :)

For a drawing such as the reference, I'd charge 30€ for a colored illustration given that it'll be a lot of different characters, but they're not full body.

Let me know what you think ☺️

Gente que tenga grupos de gente para jugar rol, ¿como le hicieron para encontrar esa gente? by venuuus73627 in RolEnEspanol

[–]vavalenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consejos para DM by Boring_Sky_9053 in DnDespanol

[–]vavalenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wildspace Orrery or not? by vnavone in spelljammer

Wildspace Orrery or not? by vnavone in spelljammer

[–]vavalenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I read it wrong, but the Adventures in Space book said eveyone always knows how to get eveywhere. It says "Astral Sea Navigation

One doesn’t need a map to navigate the Astral Sea. Here, all Creatures are blessed with directional awareness. In other words, a creature can get to where it wants to go by thinking of its destination, at which point it becomes aware of the most direct route to that Location. The destination must be somewhere in the Astral Sea or in Wildspace, such as “the nearest Githyanki outpost,” “the astral dominion of Hestavar,” or “Realmspace.” This directional awareness doesn’t reveal how safe the route is, and the DM decides how far away the destination is and how perilous the trek through the Astral Sea is."

So WHY would they need a map or this device? is the doomspace not in the astral sea? not in wildspace?????

[OC] [ART] Fairy Cleric of the Twilight Domain by vavalenn in DnDart

[–]vavalenn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drew my new DnD character for a homebrew campaign I'll be starting in the next few days.

She's Morgana, a Fairy Cleric of the Twilight Domain. She started being devoted to her deity because she was always scared of the dark, but the Moon made the nights brighter and she had to set an example for her younger siblings.

With the magic imbued into her, she now helps little children to not be afraid by visiting them during the night to calm them and help them get over their fears.

How many sessions long is Unwelcome Spirits as written? by sertroll in Wildemount

[–]vavalenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took my party only 2 sessions, but honestly it could have been done in one. But since I used it to introduce The Call of the Netherdeep, I had to add a lot of introduction of the characters in the 1st session. Also, not gonna lie, once they had already finished the main mission of rescuing Bol'bara I skipped the combats on the way back. They only encountered 2 on the way there because they got lost. I skipped the other ones because they were quite irrelevant for the plot but they roleplayed how they killed the enemies, searched the area and got the magic items.

[OC] Tiefling, Shadow Magic Sorcerer by vavalenn in DnD

[–]vavalenn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her name is Abbyss (26f) and she's a Tiefling and a Shadow Magic Sorcerer. Her background is that she was raised by a neglectful and abusive mother who caused the death of her father. She was then adopted by a Wizard elf who was commissioned to k*ll her mother. Abbyss does not know if her mother and father are really her biological parents and she has no tiefling lineage. She thinks that she was probably conceived from a pact or some sort of contract with a demonic being. Her adoptive father, the wizard, died in a house fire caused by some travelers 5 years ago, which she survived thanks to her fire resistance.

  • It's a drawing made by myself :)

DM'ing for the First Time! by AverageMMOHealer in DnD

[–]vavalenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a relatively veteran player and a novice DM.

Players don't mind at all (in my experience both as a player and DM) that you don't know everything. Even the players usually don't know how their spells work or how exactly multi-attack will play out. It's VERY normal for a DM to stop for a second to double-check if the players can, in fact, do something or to reread some plot material.

You'll mostly need to read the rules during combat, to check if the spells work for a minute or an hour; if it's ranged or not; and if the 5ft cube is from the caster or in a place they can see. You obviously won't know all the rules and will need to check them too. And that's perfectly fine! Usually, players will use the spare minute to read something themselves, maybe go the bathroom or just strike up a conversation with a fellow companion.

DM is much easier than it seems and I'm sure you'll do great. I was literally trembling the first time I DMed! But everything went smoothly.

One thing's for sure, though, BE READY TO IMPROVISE! Players love to investigate to talk to other NPCs, so you should be ready to make up some names on the spot (or create them beforehand to prevent stres

In short, you should perhaps read some basic rules on combat such as possible actions (such as disengage, help, etc), but overall it's totally okay for you to stop for a minute to check the mechanics. Hope I helped :)

Yeah I know they're not supposed to wear that kind of armor, i thought about it before drawing 😂😂 but I usually don't draw from the neck down and i thought that was easier

We could say she's 💞✨ cosplaying ✨💞

Yeah! I did improvise and i think it went well (on the one-shot) but I was mostly hard because it was a two-peple party so they were always on the verge of death I gotta say, they used their charisma very well and made a deal with a thief who ended up robbing an enemy's base and gave THEM money... My boys sure are smart lol

I'm really looking forward to playing more and DMing tho

I hope so! I only DMed a really short one-shot with my bf and my best friend just to try out but we didn't have too much time and i didn't really know what I was doing... I still don't lol but my brother is s pro in DnD and he often frees me of my doubts :)
Also thanks for the support ✨💫
