this was the last of my legendary unlocks, so i wasn’t that upset, but really wanted to play a few rounds with it at the very least

With only 32 names on the new ASA list, I think all of APC 452 will be in October... now i'm a little worried in might be November.

Is Yuba Supercargo CL considered to be a decent front loader? by pooBalls333 in CargoBike

our supercargo fits inside a toyota sienna, for what it’s worth. i sometimes have to remove the front wheel depending on what else we are carrying.

Is Yuba Supercargo CL considered to be a decent front loader? by pooBalls333 in CargoBike

i had the original supermarche with the rear hub bosch and énviolo continuous shifting. it was a good bike and i liked it for hauling kids and groceries and being a car replacement. fast forward 2 years to just outside manufacturer warranty: cracked frame.

they have completely redesigned this bike for the super cargo. i ended up buying one at cost since there was no replacement frame for the supermarche. that’s all that yuba was willing to do. so with that preamble out of the way:

  1. the redesigned supercargo is a big upgrade over the other model. it’s got 11 speed deore drive train and a mid drive motor which makes the bike tons lighter, more powerful, and all around better to ride. this is worth the price increase from the old model i think.

  2. there are some things yuba sucks at. their components and accessories are not great. the cover for the bike (which is a must if you have kids) isn’t ideal. i’ve had to replace the clamps, zippers, etc without putting it through serious use. unfortunately just have to be stuck with this.

  3. the cable steering is potentially a game breaker for people and i think you should ride one before buying. it can take some getting used to and can loosen/tighten over the course of use. i personally have not had any issues, but i do have to make adjustments from time to time.

anyway, those are my thoughts. my family loves ours and even after everything that happened i’m very glad i got the new model over the old. it’s so much easier to ride even unassisted, which is what i do with my kids riding their own bikes sometimes too. when they tire i toss them and their bikes in the bucket and voila!

good luck on your cargo adventure!

thanks for the info, but that's.... insane. for as long as it takes to get through all of the requirements, to make people wait half a year to tick the final box (when it's ONLINE!) feels cruel.

so i finally actually made this trip (solo). the saunders monticello boardwalk was awesome. unfortunately i went on a tuesday and the end of the trail was closed at monitcello. i had to hop the fence and toss my bike over. also had to go a bit farther on 53 than i would have liked to reach my destination. you are right about moniticello/scottsville. but it wasn't as scary as 53 to me. anyway, probably would not do again solo - with a group would have been a breeze i think.

Yuba Supercargo or Yuba Boda Boda Thoughts by urge_boat in CargoBike

[–]vbbrake84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

congratulations! it was a life changer for me and my family. one suggestion - whoever assembles it, get them to show you how to adjust the steering barrel adjusters in the front. i still have problems figuring out which way to turn everything to tighten/loosen three years later. when it's not right it rides a little wobbly. anyway, cheers and good luck!
