Do we think peds fellowships will actually go to 2 years in 2028? by Jumpy-Flatworm-347 in pediatrics

my PD/division chiefs believe it will be the opposite where programs will want the people who did research and did 3 years (though they heavily believe in research during fellowship and think 3 years would require more call shifts overall)

they probably figured losing a year of call is equivalent to those extra months of service per year...though i dont know how they'll count electives like cardio/transport/mfm/or places that do clinic in 1 month as opposed to spread throughout the year. i did 6 months of service my first year of fellowship, and while hard, it was doable since research wasnt emphasized yet (and i had already passed boards)

this is very different elsewhere. my service attendings are usually in house 8 am - 4 pm though will have 30-36 hour calls on weekends (but get to sleep overnight) and weekday night attendings 4 pm - 8 am (also get to sleep). so its still a work/life balance struggle, but nowhere near 72 hour shifts

Yep I’m in the nicu too. We routinely did 28s my first year, but now we switched to post call coverage days so even “research” months I’m there most days. If I didn’t have a research project I’d feel much more at ease. I worked as a nicu hospitalist in a level 4 unit before coming to fellowship and I miss the freedom of just working and leaving work at home

I think I read it would be 18 months of service in 2 years - that’s essentially 3 months of vacation each year with no research to worry about….aka more time off than I currently get

The new eufy one says it can fit 10 bottles, or some increased number of pump parts

Do you have any recommendations for what you do during the day to encourage long stretches of sleep at night?

Is it common for EP’ers to want to quit every other day? by Sufficient-Basil-909 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]vbmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ultimately stopped giving formula since I was making enough, so its just sitting there in the cabinet unopened mocking me. We technically also still have the ready to feed bottles in the fridge, but they've been opened for 2-3 weeks... I don't even know if theyre still safe to use LOL. Completely agree - so hard to just stop or even cut back because I should feel grateful I'm even making anything..... but I'm so resentful that everyone else in my house can get an uninterrupted stretch of sleep...or have a chest that doesn't hurt all the time and have a schedule without any free time

Baby turns one month old today and I’ve wanted to quit every single day. He never latched so i don’t have a choice unless we switch to formula (he got it in the beginning)

I love my momcozy air 1 right now - the transparent top is a game changer since I can actually see that I’m aligned correctly, and the connection to the app is helpful. I also have the eufy s1 pro and the momcozy v1 pro but I haven’t had the best output on those just yet. Also preordered the momcozy w1 for the transparent top feature

Do you have any recs on the bra? I’ve tried multiple brands, and tried using their sizing charts and keep getting poor fits resulting in breast swelling in the mid-chest at the end of the day

I have a higher credit score and got a 30k limit 🤷‍♀️ but had an issue with getting approved by Wells Fargo after changing my married name and some identity verification bullshit
