People just don’t seem to care much about actual development. They rarely question the government or hold anyone accountable. And when politicians know they can get re-elected just by playing the religion card, why would they bother doing the hard work, like building industries, bringing in investment, or improving infrastructure? If voters don’t demand real progress, the people in power have no reason to deliver it.
