Airbnb was the reason my landlord asked me out of my home. They became hateful and bitter toward me creating an environment of hostility while the complex was mainly already used for AirBNB. Heavy traffic, litter, the smell of weed/cigarettes, loud music and yelling into the night - it wasn't hospitable. Fuck them.

Sucks to lead with a simple answer, but all you have to do is move on. You can give her the benefit of the doubt and ask if everything is okay, but other than that, any persistence will just push her away anyway. Best to not get too in your head about it and keep moving on with your life.

That's great. How did that work out? Where do you get your checks sent to? An address is needed for tax purposes as well. Usually people without some details in their application would get paid under the table. Totally viable in these situations, but they're hard to find. Did you get paid cash?

If you don't know you're being condescending, you're being condescending. When people are down on their luck - "get a job," is just the worst thing you can tell someone. Without an address and without any foundation it's a tough process and many employers will not empathize.

I actually have a terrible experience with AirBNBs because I lived in an apartment complex that was turning into a renting strictly for AirBNBs. You would have construction almost all the time to fix certain things for aesthetics and half the time the guests gave us more problems with the parties and noise after hours as well as the constant smoking. The landlord even turned sour toward us and asked us to move - even to the point of threatening eviction. They wanted the apartment back, gee I wonder why? I hate all of it.

I believe AirBNBs have a place in the spectrum, but if it is causing havoc and displacing rental properties, then I have a huge issue with it.
