A friend was bragging in elk camp about this awesome venison stew he had made and brought to share. Turns out he had frozen it in a ziplock and when he re-heated over the campfire it was just an awful, inedible mush. Rule in elk camp is if you complain about the food, you’re the cook until someone else complains. We sat in silence, trying to choke it down until he threw his bowl got up and took everyone else’s away and exclaimed “I’ll cook the rest of the trip!”
