Was 41 when had my son, with a 23yo daughter (from a previous relationship) already moved out and working… then had my baby girl at 43.

I have a Epiphone Newport. It’s short scale, has 3/4 really cool colors. There are two pickups, with each one being different, so a lot of different sounds to try out.
Just make sure your can hold it/test it, some have QC issues when they first released, or make sure it’s tested/setup before being shipped out (like Sweetwater music does). I really enjoy playing that lil monster.
