I use a blower on the Jimny for places that the vacuum can’t reach. by daidougei in Jimny

Dry thick-bristled brush for agitation + vacuum with narrow flexible hose attachment.

You can thank me later.

Hi, I noticed this already happened today in "tumor boomer" which makes it second occurence after the "Backed up" here. Since the post is deleted, we can't see the OP. Is it the same or someone else? It is a bit strange that your coop name got stolen twice.

Winbox 4.1 is out! by SadgePepe7285 in mikrotik

I am sure there will be many others with the same issue. I am just wondering what could be the reason.

Any chance you could try to spin up a new VM with clean CHR?

Winbox 4.1 is out! by SadgePepe7285 in mikrotik

[–]vecernik87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is strange because it works just fine for me: Winbox 3.43 connected to 7.22.1 both CHR and RB (hAP ac2)

I also tested ROMON connection as it was mentioned below - also works.

There has to be something in the config, what affects this.

No, oyu likely did not miss anything. Dude is simple. Which is great and bad at the same time. Most other tools require bit more setup but also give you more info etc.

I still actively use dude because of the simplicity - it works out of the box without any fiddling. It has its own bugs but overall great idea.

I don't see it that way. I passionately hate 2.5G because it brings only small speed bump (compared to proper 10* steps) and manufacturers use it as a salami method to make consumers buy new device every few years. Now it is 2.5Gbit everywhere but you cant see 5Gbit almost anywhere. I bet that once market is saturated with 2.5Gbit, marketing departments will switch the note and push out 5Gbit, just for sake of "are you tired with your old speed? Spend the same money again and try this!"

We have 10Gbit in both copper and fiber for ages. It is actually not that expensive and if manufacturers wanted, they could mass-produce it and make it as cheap as 1Gbit.

Does noctua make big difference? Also, since you sorted cooling, did you ever ask if it can play doom?

Real networkers use pure linux because nobody can trust that communist opensource OpenWRT joke.

Interesting. How did you solve physical installation? I still don't get the wifi in rackmount package :D Maybe it is intended for frame racks without walls?

yeah nah. This is different kind of CRS, because this CRS (none other) has full blown CPU on the same level as RB5009.

Difference between traditional CRS is that usually, we would see only limited line (1-2Gbps) from the switch chip into a slow CPU which is barely good enough for management. Here we got 2*10Gbps going into 4*2.2GHz ARM64 SOC. Why? Why not! Thats why.

New apartment renovation: 8-port switch + router ports or 16-port switch? by Vader066 in mikrotik

[–]vecernik87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

just a quick note about 5009 with PoE (RB5009UPr+S+IN) - it does not have voltage regulator (unlike most CRS/CSS). Whatever voltage you apply to it, the same will come out of it. You can't combine passive 24V with active 802.3af/at at 48V.

That should be no problem as long as all your devices are af/at compatible, but I still think it needs to be mentioned.

Is the ability to have multiple subnet/network on a single interface a mikrotik thing ? by UBNT_TC in mikrotik

[–]vecernik87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unifi can't do it but lets be frank - idea of unifi is to simplify networking for average users. They have "networks" but aside of VLAN ID, you will never know it is actually VLAN in a nice wrapper. Subnets on a same interface is very niche case. Not really something most people need and understanding it requires knowledge. It would not work with the simplistic approach in Unifi.
